He was 20 during this part. He started at 12, 3 years to learn kickflip (see nine club itw), so he learn in 4 years how to kickflip boardslide 15 stairs rail in 2000s 😅... he is an absolute genius. Still doing big gaps at 40 nowadays.
heyman this is one of my favorite parts of all time and does keep up with the standards but Ryan decenzos new part he does switch big heel back blunt on a rail.
Drew V yeah I remember how blown the fuck away I was when this came out and I watched it on repeat. I loved the whole vid but Billy Marks was definitley the stand out. Seriously, there are so many NBD on handrail tricks here that could have been Enders it’s insane ; Switch Kickflip boardslide Pop shove fs Smith Kickflip crooks that tall AF hubba Kickflip fs lip that white tail - still my fav trick in the part. Pop shove Wilshire. This part made Billy one of my favourite skaters but also set an unbelievably high bar for his video parts.
I have this on DVD (as well as every other toy machine release). I used to watch this part day after day after day. The songs, the filming, the editing, his style and trick selection. Unlike some "classics" Thrasher has posted, this part is a TRUE classic!
I already liked toy machine a lot but I remember the first toy decks I ever got was one of his boards and it was one of the best boards I ever skated, i remember ripping it up.
The editing in this video was an absolute masterpiece. Not sure who put it all together but I'm always amazed at how well the tricks flow from one to the next.
Good and Evil is probably my most watched skate vid ever and maybe the best one i will ever watch. Bily Marks and Johny Layton are my personal favorites.
I was a freshman in 2006 when I first saw this video... I remember writing Billy Marks name on a piece of paper and taking it home to watch this part over and over again. I don't even know the name of the Franz Ferdinand song and yet know all the words thanks to this video. 15+ years later and I still get just as hype over his big heels and sexy ass landing at 1:39. Always loved the slightly nose heavy but still bolts-as-fuck landings. Also the fact that "Billy's Balls" exists nearly 2 decades before all these other trickshotting videos is amazing. Dude's way ahead of his time. Love ya Billy.
Consider how many different flip-in variations he did on handrails and full size ledges in this part. and how many different kinds of grinds and slides he did them into. legendary part. Billy is one of the raddest of all time.
Such a great skater, i remember meeting him at a skatepark in Corona CA back in like 2008 & they let me smoke a joint with them haha. Great skater & truly one of the best flippers. Legendary video.
Billy Marks always been one of my favorites. Every time I tried to buy this it was sold out at my shop (rip my local skateshop). I was like 16 mowing lawns for boards when this came out and decided to get me a toy machine deck instead. Actually I'm riding the blue eye board right now. This shit makes me feel old. Haha
Billy Marks can literally flip into any grind/slide. So fucked. To think that this was 10 years ago really puts into perspective how ahead of it's time this part was when it comes to flip into handrail/hubba tricks. Not many dudes were kickflipping and frontside flipping into 12+ stair handrails in '04.
Damn man, 2020 and this part is still a banger. I always liked billy. I remember going through a bunch of different favorite skaters through 10-18 years old, I’m 26 now, but billy was my number one for like a year. I remember how pumped I was getting his fallens and some toy machine shirts with the one eyed things on them. I can’t even remember what they were called, the shoes I mean. Lmao. He’s always been a shredder though. Respect to billy.
Most underrated skater, underrated part, and underrated placement in the goddamn video! I loved Diego, but I haven't watched that part since I had the dvd-I come back to watch this part once a year
16 years later and this part is still fckn ridiculous, if this part dropped TODAY, Billy would be a very strong contender for SOTY, this part still hypes me to skate to this day
I bought Good and Evil right after I moved into my first apartment! I had a church parking lot next door and they let me put all of my homemade obstacles there but it had to be movable for when they needed the lot Good Fucking Memories!!!
Wow so ahead of his time back then, Chris Cole, and P-Rod were about the only other ones doing stuff like this then, and Koston of course. Just saying not many skated like Billy, he was so gnarly
All this ripping on like a 7.75. I remember when this video came out. Me and the boys were tripping on this part. J Layton's too... Can't forget about Matt Bennett too
This part could come out today and still hold up. It’s a bummer he only had a few tricks in the last Toy Machine video. Hopefully, Fallen come out with a new video, soon!
@@Gumbocinno it is but people have problems throwing it off of gaps & stairs. Only a few pros have that clean pop shuv. Like. Billy marks. Corey duffel. & Garrett hill
You'd be surprised by how many times I get people letters with those in games of SKATE. And to take one down something! Gotta have the perfect amount of scoop otherwise ya toast!
billy marks... killed games of skate, was very technical with flip tricks and grinds and skated huge shit, and he was always core as fuck.. I bought your Toy boards Billy, I support you. Not sure what's wrong with everyone else. This dude is amazing.
