i hear you on that! When i first started skating DC was barely starting out. I remember I bought a pair and people at my middle school at the time thought I was wearing some "payless" shoes because they werent familiar with the name. Id always reply "their skate shoes". nowadays you can find them on shelves of almost any shoe store...except payless lol.
i remember that like it was yesterday i was in high school it helped alot, good times sad new skaters dont know much about the old school dudes or how hard it was to learn a trick now kids and their youtube puts them at another level
+MrPLANI they will be quick to spin a tre but would most likely eat shit doing a shuv it, i've seen people break the tails off the board because they land back on the tail like brad showed.
Haha I remember those "running" style skate boots. So bulky, we all rolled our ankles constantly. Thank god for soft vulcanized. I'll take heel bruises over rolled ankles any day.
Skaters have worn Adidas and Nike since the 70's, but more legitimately in the 80's for nike (red or blue jordans around 85-86) and adidas since the early 90's with shell toes.
docstrange2k i thought so. i knew nikes never had anything official skate wise til around 2000 sumthin', but i've seen footage with elissa steamer and gonz with shell toes on. thanks
this is not a classic, its a trick tip. the only reason this guy suggested it, is brad staba is his boss. it also doesn't tell you the most important part about pop-shuvits is using the pressure between your feet, and scooping the tail with your the toes of your back foot.
