Awesome haul! That was a great deal for those blocks, I bought that other bag you showed for $10. So that big bin is amazing! Those flowery shapes are called brain flakes, and you got a great deal on those too! I love those paper trays from target, I use them for the kids to use play dough at the play dough center and it keeps it a lot cleaner! Loved your vid👍

haileykatelynn I’m not sure where those specific ones are from. I’ve seen a ton of different ones on amazon. Btw, Have you seen your class yet? A lot of times there are leveled books in the class.

I haven’t seen it too in depth, and it was hard to tell what stuff was the previous teacher’s and what would be left. But I’m hoping soon I will be able to get in my classroom and find out what is in there!

I'm a second year kinder teacher and my kids love the national geographic books! I had some kiddos that were able to read them on their own as well, but they loved looking at the pictures regardless!! I've seen stamps at the target dollar spot!

Stamps- at Michael’s by the checkout they have $1 stamps that are always good for different seasons and letters and numbers!

I'm jealous of your Goodwill!!! The one around here stinks!! For your puzzles, you might want to get small bins with tops from Dollar Tree. The cardboard packages might fall apart. So glad to see someone so excited about teaching. This fall will be my 10th year. I started out teaching high school and now teach middle school. I spend the summers creating because I love new beginnings!!!

Honestly it can be pretty hit or miss with thrift stores, but just check often and should be able to find things! That’s so exciting, I hope you have another great year! ❤️

I do already have some videos on the Ed TPA on my channel that may be helpful! I haven't done it in over a year so I don't really remember all the details so I would not be much of a help anymore unfortunately!

haileykatelynn Kindergarten or Young Fives (I’m not sure if you call it that in your state) In Michigan that’s what we call it! It’s like in between preschool and kindergarten prep for some delayed or young students!

I just got up the Target here in my city, it was so picked over I was bummed, but I do have family in bigger cities, who are picking things up for me! So blessed! My theme is “Hungry for Learning,” I found off of Oriental Trading, and I absolutely love it! Best of luck to you!

I would choose two different colors to represent Reading and Math like purple and orange. Then you can get folders with that color and put the copies in each group or you could just get 4 more bins. Congrats on your first teaching job! Excited to see your journal.

Love this! Your Goodwill seams awesome, I never find anything at mine. The first day of school board is super cute. I ended up just taking blank pics of my kids and then went back in later and added text to the board on the computer. It was so handy and time saving!

Great haul and video!! I was just at Michael’s yesterday and they have a ton of teacher stuff plus their version of the Target Dollar Spot. They even had classroom decor, pillows, etc!!

@@haileykatelynn Just be flexible and not too hard on yourself! Sometimes it takes time to find ways to do things that are a good fit for your classroom! You do not have to do things exactly how someone else does it. This was something I learned as time went on..lol :) In that same respect, do not be afraid to ask for help! Also, go ahead and be thinking about some literacy centers. This was something that was very overwhelming for me at first. I feel like if I would have prepped some over the summer or had some ideas it would have been less stressful when school started. Not sure what your school has or offers, but here is a link to some interventions I used in my classroom to help students. Another teacher showed me this website and it actually was pretty helpful. www.fcrr.org/Curriculum/studentCenterActivities.shtm These are researched based interventions/games that many of my students actually enjoyed! I mainly used the letter recognition and letter sound correspondence. I laminated them and made a set so that I could reuse them. Sorry for the long comment! Super excited to follow your journey! You are going to do such an amazing job and those kids are going to be so lucky to have you!!

Teacher tip, save your money on buying books and utilize your school and local library as much as you can. Also go to garage sales, books are way cheaper there. Talk to your local library too about if they have book sales when they get rid of old books. Awesome haul!!!

Great finds! The brain flakes for 5 dollars is awesome. They are 25 dollars on Amazon and the steralite container is worth more than you paid for all of it. Try Oriental Trading or Amazon for stamps.

I use the dry erase sleeves as personal dry erase boards. Slip a piece of paper inside and they are double sided, light-weight dry erase boards Take a close look at the little puzzles before you use them. They are cute but often they are all the same cut out pattern. So kids can connect incorrect pieces together. I still like them, but I use them as instruction pieces and not independent centers. Just a thought.

One of my mentor teachers used the first day of school of school signs with her pre-k students, and to save time she just took a picture of them holding it, and then typed in their answers over the board on an app like Snapchat, or an editing app! Just thought I would share that! I’m enjoying all of your videos!!!

Just a tip with the chalkboard sign. You might want to take their picture just holding the sign and you can go in the picture and edit their answer. It might save you some time on the first day because it can get crazy.
