My school has some desks that shape too. They were used for 2nd grade. But this year, the 1st graders will have them. When they're all together in a group it looks like a flower to me. 😊
Omg that is a amazing idea that tire desk and the kid table I am going to do that (when I grow up I want to be a 1st grade teacher too so you are like my favorite person ever) love you
I am really enjoying your content! I am an education major (not a teacher...yet!!) but I really didn't think about 1st graders not being able to read the page numbers in the math book! Your classroom looks amazing!! You worked so hard on it!
Another fun and engaging video!!! You have one desk that seems 3-4 inches taller than all the others, that would drive me crazy!!! Looking forward to watching the school year progress!
You have to turn the groups of table a bit more so that the front two are at a slant to see the board. That way their backs aren't to the board. (I have those same desks and they are a headache)
Or, since there are 18 students, have them in groups of 3 to avoid a group of 2. That way, everyone can face the board comfortably,. Extra teacher bonus: with those tables in groups of three, you can stand in the vacant space for easy live in-class marking.
Love all your great ideas and set up. You might want to check your SAFE PLACE board. The top sentence started didn't quite make sense... I calm. You probably left out the I AM calm. Good luck on an awesome year.
I guess the intended meaning is “I calm myself” since they come to the corner unregulated, they pick a breath to calm… just used the verbiage from the Conscious Discipline book 🤷🏻♀️ but yeah totally see how it could read weird!
Mrs. Allain in Elementary, u could do 8 groups of 2 ( or 2 groups of 8), 9 groups of 2 ( or 2 groups of 9), 6 groups of 3 (or 3 groups of 6 )..... sorry for confusing u
Beautiful, organized & inspiring classroom👍 Have a good start of school year. May I ask which tape do you use to hang posters on walls and does it stay on all year? Does it affect the paint?
I used scotch masking tape and it worked in my classroom this year… In my old classroom that would not have held and I had to use a special kind of tape and it was the only one that stuck… Here’s the link: Mavalus Tape 3/4" Wide x 1" Core (9 yards long) 4 Pack www.amazon.com/dp/B015HW33JU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_MA77QM4NSXRJSCTCKN0Y
Your classroom looks great! Such a difference from when started! Ok I do have to ask about those sandals you were wearing when you were numbering the cubby spaces? They have black straps that went around your ankle. What brand are those? So cute!
Hey!! I can’t remember the brand off the top of my head… they are off brands of these: www.amazon.com/Steve-Madden-Womens-Kimmie-Sandal/dp/B06WRTF51D/ref=asc_df_B06WRTF51D/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=312686986786&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=402070225616392156&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1015213&hvtargid=pla-475286194683&psc=1
These were awesome! I'll be moving back to first grade so I'll use a bunch of these recommendations. Quick questions: where did you get your toolbox labels and also, the vowel valley cards, are they from a program your school uses? We use OG so I wondered where I could get those cards for me and my partner teacher since they mimic what we do in Orton-Gillingham. Thank you! Your room is adorable! :)
Hi ! New subscriber here 👋🏻 So I am first year kindergarten teacher. LOVE your content so far. I love the affirmation station I was wondering if it’s developmental appropriate for K. When I was a sub virtual teacher we would have a couple of positive affirmations for the week that we would say every morning. But this idea is so cute but don’t know if it’s too advanced for K. What are your thoughts ?
@@mrs_katie_in_elementary should I have them say it in front of the mirror? How do you utilize it ? I feel it would be time consuming if each student went up as my class here in new york will be big.
