I honestly have no idea why i’m watching these type of videos. Im going into 9th grade and no where near being a teacher. I just love watching “behind the scenes” of teachers, and especially love Lauren (Loren?) because of her sweet hard working personality💗

Teacher hack that I learned my first year. I use flat sheets from walmart on my bulletin boards and it makes a more sturdy durable reusable bulletin board background. I also laminate everything decorations get expensive!

ok chica....those books in the bin that you placed in the closet---if you don't use them during the year, get rid of them! They can be donated to other classrooms, sent home with kids at the end of the year...but GET RID OF IT! Train yourself to be purposeful with the things you keep:) Great job!

I don't usually comment on videos but I hope this tip helps. I'm a 4th year 2nd grade teacher and spent the first 2 years struggling with keeping my library organized since little kiddos have a hard time putting them back into the correct spot. The best way to make sure the library stays organized is to put little labels on each individual book that matches the book bin label so they can easily put books away. Colored dots (taped on with packing tape) can also work if you teach them which color goes with which bucket. Also, instead of wasting storage space with unwanted/uninteresting books you don't want in your library, giving them as gifts to the kiddos to build their home library is always a fun way to get them excited about reading. What kid doesn't love a new free book? :)

You can use white wrapping paper or a white plastic table cloth for those 2 small boards.

Target has some mini white rolls for bulletin boards! I love your little library and it’s so welcoming and fun!

I have seen ideas of book raffles. They could choose the book they like the most if chosen. This would give the students a chance to incorporate reading into their home lives and get them more excited about reading..just an idea for the books in the clear bin 😀

I've also used washi tape to spruce up brown and boring furniture! comes off easy, and brings a pop of color to your room, too!

The small bookshelf that you said will be leaving could go behind the bookcase near your desk area. Back to back. So behind the seasonal bookcase. The table at the back near the sink could be a supply table, turn in bin area. It could hold papers to pass out or be a calm down zone too.

Your room looks great! Another tip for a classroom might be to cover the feet of your chairs with either tennis balls or tie small pieces of felt to the bottom to dampen the sound of metal. It also helps preserve the waxes floor longer.

Since you’re not in love with the chalkboard at the front maybe you could put dry erase contact paper on there so that large space isn’t wasted and can be used!

Maybe you should put 2 chairs on each side of the tables and 2 on the end - you would still have six per desk but it would just have a lot more space especially in hot weather x

If you end up buying more white paper, you can cover the outside of your teacher desk and put up any extra border with it... I have an older teacher desk and revamped it with paper and border. It matches my room, too. This definitely isn’t necessary, but just something you could do with extra paper. Your room is looking great! Keep up the great work.

Library looks great. Just an idea my 1st graders love to read with book buddies. So I have a basket of very small stuffed animals. It's really cute when a student tells his buddy what the pictures look like. Just an other idea I also have a stuffed dog as our class pet. Everyday a different student gets to have "Jasper" on his or her desk. Then at the end of the day that student writes or draws something they did with him.

I am a fan of the same border everywhere in the classroom! I've always done that. Currently I am actually sporting the same style border, (polka dots) but in different colors. I did that when I moved to kindergarten so I can say go to the pink board, or look at the green board and they know where to go. I will probably go back to same style same color next year though. Also, instead of buying another roll of paper, could you see if your school has any white butcher paper you could use for free? Since you've got such a small area left?? LOVE your library!

One other teacher I follow her double border she does them at home she uses double sided tape and tapes the top one and bottom one together and then when shes ready to hang them up they are already done and so much easier and faster to hang up.
