Classroom Setup #3 Trusting the Vision…Layout, New Furniture, Unpacking, Decorating (+setup tips!) 

Next video is going to be showing you how fun our first day back as a school was, getting my room mostly ready for meet the teacher, and classroom haul things! :)

i hope this is your forever school. you've put so much love into your classroom and the whole thing with the military losing a bunch of your stuff, you deserve to have a classroom that you can call home.

First of all please thank you and your husband for your service. Being in the military is a big commitment and so is teaching. In fact you went through some of the worst days ever in being a teacher. Teaching is difficult enough but then trying to teach on-line had to be so much more difficult than face to face teaching. I'm sure your well aware of how many left the teaching profession during or right after the pandemic. Probably several that were among your friends circle. I couldn't help but notice your top with the word "Book" connected by a pair of glasses. between the B and K. I have never seen a top like that before. I like it. Oddly enough of all the times for you not o be wearing glasses to go along with your top. Considering that for nearly a year since filming this video you have been wearing glasses in every video since. Glasses is a really good look on you and you always have really cute glasses that seems to suite you so perfectly. But it's nice to see how attractive you are without glasses every once in a while as well. I should probably mention that I was an optician for many years before retiring. It's so refreshing to see someone as attractive as you choosing to wear glasses rather than contacts. But glasses does help in at least in giving you a bit of a teachers look. A very attractive teacher look. I looking back to your earliest videos you were only wearing glasses in less than half of your videos. So were in those videos were you wearing contacts or were simply "bare-eyed" going without glasses or contacts. You appear to only have a rather weak prescription which would have allowed you to go without glasses or contacts. Your prescription was also likely even a little weaker back then as well. I don't have anything against contacts or the people that wear them. The problem isn't the contacts, but how most people tend to over wear them that's a problem for me. Over wearing them makes them unhealthy for their eyes. Our store was mostly staffed with young women and pretty much all of them needed vision correction. Our store provided each of them with a yearly eye exam, new glasses every 6 months and unlimited contacts. Nearly all of them wore glasses fulltime and only wore contacts for sports or maybe for a special occasion. They said wearing glasses was so much more comfortable to their eyes than contacts. But contacts were great for playing any type of contact sport. If you started wearing glasses before or even as you entering high school you were probably like so many other high school girls that claimed they didn't look good wearing glasses and just had to get contacts to compete for the star quarterback or Barbie's Ken.

So fun to see your classroom coming together. The painted walls add so much!

You have been doing a fantastic job getting ready for school. Being assigned a small classroom definitely brings out the creative in all of us. One of the first items I usually get rid of whenever I am assigned a small classroom is my teacher desk. I usually use a small bookshelf to place my small group resources inside covered bins and a 10 drawer rolling cart next to it with the small group copies for the week. I also use a mini desk organizer to place small items I will be using with my small groups. You could also use a 10 drawer rolling cart as workstations (centers) which the students may carry the small bins to their seat and then place them back once they are done. The advantage to using rolling carts is that they may be disassembled at the end of the year for easy storage. Finally, one of the best advice a teacher gave me was to try to use Feng Shui in the classroom, use storage that may be collapsed at the end of the year in case you move schools, and keep the room decluttered as much as possible which helps to minimize misbehaviors. I know you get most of your bookshelves on sale but it still seems insane that most of the furniture in your room you purchased. If only schools funded teacher created classrooms. It’s so sad to me how much of our own money we spend.

I love the room but there’s nooo storage cabinets?! You mentioned wardrobes but not sure if that’s a type of storage unit the room would have come with. I can’t imagine not having places to hide things like my personal items and extra supplies. 🫣
