Hey there! I changed school districts too! I went from Pasadena ISD to La Porte. From 6th grade reading intervention to K-5 special education life skills. I have no idea what I'm doing!
I would actually put plain black border to cover the metal edges with the black material on the long thin upper bulletin board and then use a quote across the whole thing. Then it won't compete with the rainbow border on the lower board.
Spray paint all those bins the same color. That way it won’t matter if you find the same as the others. As long as it’s a similar type and size, it will still look as if it’s the same. You can put the non matching bins on the bottom. Honestly you’re room Is massive! So much storage and you are blessed to have so many pieces of furniture left behind. Personally I wouldn’t get rid of anything yet. I’d take all the storage I could get.
Did you try to hot glue the chair arm? That’s the only thing I can think of😂I’m pretty sure submitting a work order will take the entire school year…or check an empty/unused classroom or ask a custodian if there’s an extra chair in the school storage!

I might be wrong but think that small piece of furniture might be for tech (tablets or a printer). Given you have a bigger tablet cart already, it could make a good printer cart, small enough to slide under a desk. The handle things might be to hang headphones, as someone already mentioned, although I'm not convinced it would hold a class set. You could also use it for book returns or as storage and a divider for a calm corner. I think the extra desk is a calming spot. And the pull-out racks are for paper storage. I had something similar and used it to store anchor chart paper, anchor charts and sugar paper., etc. Congratulations on your new job. Have a great year.
Haha there was ac but it was set to like 78 or 80 and we couldn't lower it down since we are not on contract yet. But opening the door and the fan helped!!
For bulletin boards I have been using NO border for the past couple of years, and I love it! I find that once you start putting up the academic materials, it is either not needed or the vision for the right border style (or corner decorations) will come to you later. Hope this helps ! 😌
What a great classroom with a lot of cabinets and new features! I hope you can find out what the district provides in student supplies or if they give you an allowance. I wanted to make sure you have the student supplies needed first before anything else that might go on your wishlist. I sure know about the heat! It is supposed to be 107 degrees here tomorrow in southern California. I don't even want to know about the temperatures in Arizona and across the southern states! Everyone can't wait for fall and cooler temperatures. I'm so glad I sent you the black wheeled cart to use. I can't imagine hauling one or two containers at a time from the parkling lot carrying them in your arms. That has to be the best investment yet! I look forward to seeing the rest of your set up videos. I liked the matching bulletin board borders. But if it is too much for you, you might use a solid border on top that pulls one of the colors from the lower multicolored strip. That should calm it down a bit. You can do the same with another bulletin board to pull the solid color into other areas so that it looks cohesive around the room. I really like your multicolor border because it is so cheerful and looks great against the black fabric background!
So far, I'm loving the district and the support they give to the schools. Learning all the curriculum plus reading academy has made me feel overwhelmed. 😢
