Hi Kim! I have been watching your classroom set up vlogs since I was in college (I'm now a 4th year teacher) and I'm so excited that you are doing them again this year! Also, I have 22 second graders this year as well! I haven't gotten into my room yet, but I think I'm going to arrange my desks into 4 groups of 4 and two groups of 3.
I give my kids individual supplies and use my crayon drawers for them to find colors they need. they still lose and break crayons and I put lost crayons in there too.
I have a drawer system for crayons in my classroom similar to the one you showed at the start of the vlog!! Each kiddos gets their own box of crayons to keep in their pencil box. The drawers are a place to put lost crayons as well as a good place for kiddos to find the color they need if they are missing it!!! I have been waiting for you set up videos!!! 🩷
I started back at my school Monday and students came back yesterday. Its great to be back but summer was so short since I am at a year round school in MI. Hope your school year goes great!
