Brilliantly written sketch and no one could have nailed it better than Ego. She's been great on SNL from day one and hopefully will now get the air time to be the star she deserves to be.

As a former teacher, this really hit the nail on the head. When a sub is called in, he or she does not necessarily know the Class's subject matter. Administrators could care less. They require a warm body in the classroom in order to collect their Federal Funding. LOL

love this, megan being a college graduate and educated makes this funnier.

A black teacher just assuming that a class full of black kids is dumb is hilarious! I feel like it would have been so easy to make the teacher white because this kind of skit has been done to death. But having the substitute be black as well and way out of her depth and making the kids geniuses were great subversions and definitely made the skit funnier than it could have been otherwise.

This skit brought me to tears! 😂 It's like take Coach Carter, Freedom Writers, Sister Act, etc, and flip it on its head.

The writing for this episode was so good. Ego is really coming into her own, I absolutely loved her in this. Megan really had a fantastic episode.

She's not just a substitute teacher, she's also a new one. Otherwise she would have had them study the next chapter then sit back and checked her Snap Chat. Told everyone that she was teaching at a STEM school.

As a black woman with a Bachelor's in English, and a Master's in History who keeps getting asked how she learned to speak proper English and learned French, I can relate to this.

She hit them with so many negative stereotypes it was mind blowing 🤯 LMAO

In my urban high school, we had a new math teacher who promised that if we could pass our standardized math tests that she would take us to a very fancy Italian restaurant. She spent almost 20 minutes giving us a speech about how we could achieve lol. She turned red when we all revealed to her that we had passed with maybe the exception of 1 or 2 students ! She double checked with the office and kept her promise. She chartered a school bus to take our whole class. It was a great outing, and I still visit that restaurant to this day because of her. Needless to say, I doubt if she made an expensive mistake like that again.

Ego has really come into her own as a cast member in the past couple of years, and she showed that off brilliantly in this sketch!

That Amy made me laugh, I have a friend named Tonisha and she hates her name, she's black but she hates how it perpetuates this kind of stereotype. She has a daughter and everyone always thinks her name is gonna be something like that, no her daughters name is Isabel and people are always surprised she gets so mad!

I know Megan takes this seriously! The physics material and first line covering the duality of photons is on par for an honors level physics course! Great subversion and excellent delivery!

I thought this video was just comedy until everything in it happened to my classmates last week during fourth period, a substitute kept making motivational speeches like this even though we were a Legal Environment of Business class My classmates emailed the teacher saying that they were either scared, annoyed, or offended the entire period and the teacher's other classes did so as well... When the teacher came back, they complained the entire period

As I say to my students: “Don’t assume; ask!” I also remind them that African-American teachers (and other professionals, such as doctors) may internalize the same biases and prejudices the broader society and mainstream culture hold.

This sketch is timeless. SNL has done a lot of sketches lately that won't be understood 2 years from now, but this one will be funny for however long we have left on this planet.

this and the lisa from temecula skit with ego also in it are two of my favorite recent sketches on SNL.. i was crying laughing during both of them
