Classroom Tour | Organizing the Curriculum 

Can I just say thank you for teaching your kids using songs. As someone who is extremely dyslexic/discalcic I use songs/ tips my elementary school teachers taught me on a near daily basis and I am now in my late 20's. Such as we go to get her together or to get the answer to 4x4 you have to be 16 drive a 4x4. It is little things like that, that will stay with your students forever.

The schools here in South Africa have started on the 9th of January .I finished school last year in December.😀🇿🇦

Love watching your vlogs, always gain lots of ideas. Summer holidays here in New Zealand at the moment, school starting in 2 weeks, so busy getting classroom ready. I teach the same age as you. New Zealand curriculum and teaching is quite different in that we group children according to their needs for Reading, Writing, Maths and our planning changes each week depending on progress but it's interesting seeing a different way of doing things. I am from Australia, and am about to start the school year on the 4th of February. I've just moved to a new school where I share a classroom with another teacher. so much to do in so little time!

I’m in Victoria, Australia and work as a Teacher Aide. We finished last year a few days before Christmas for our Summer holidays and go back January 29th, so not quite 6 weeks. We are lucky though to have 2 week term breaks every 10-11 weeks through the year.

Thank you so much for this video. First of all, i would like to say that you have amazing classes in your school. I am teaching in the UK and.. hm.. some of the buildings here, which are now schools, are old. Making the rooms cosy and child friendly is a challenge. Also, budget costs make us teachers spend our own money on resources etc. Thanks for the planner that you shared. It is great to see what is taught in the US :) Anyway, great video:)

I have also changed how I store curriculum and prep for lessons. For weekly lessons I use a drawer system labeled with the days of the week and one drawer says next week. This helps me with my weekly planning. Although I have found a system for my weekly planning, I have not found a system that I like for my yearly outline. Your electronic outline is something I am excited about trying. Would you mind sharing what centers you use? I noticed you immediately start your curriculum in week 1. I would love to do this but often find myself taking a little longer for beginning of the year assessments. Do you do assessments? If so, when do you do them? Thanks for this great video!

At some point, can you make a video about planning lessons and how to structure a day? I’m just starting the Texas Teachers program and I want to teach kindergarten and make sure I provide the best, most fun learning environment I can. I saw that you have an overview of different lessons (math, literature, science, etc). How do you disperse those lessons throughout the week? What does a typical day of lessons look like? Is there a specific order you go in each day?

Hello. I just found your channel this morning and I'm now addicted! I absolutely love your setup and how organized you are. I operate a small preschool center in my home. My focus is to help prepare my students for Kindergarten. I try to incorporate kindergarten routines and aspects into my program. I do have a question for you, are there any topics that you as a kindergarten teacher would like preschool teacher's to work on with children to better ready them for kindergarten? I have heard some teachers complain that it is a challenge to get children acclimated into a daily routine because of the lack of structure in preschool classrooms. I aslo can relate to your corky personally. I aftrn blame my corkiness on my role as a preachool teacher. I think its a great characteristic to have when working with children. I outgrew my file cabinet years ago. And trying to downsize my files, so I don't have so many tubs. But I put my books in my file boxes as well. How do you organize your read aloud books?
