I believe there is a way to checkmate with the two bishops, you need to push the King to a horizontal edge, not to a vertical Edge. The reason you didnt checkmate him was you had no space to reorganize your bishops in an effective way, horizontally you would have a lot more of space to being the bishops to a good place and have a waiting move just in case. And yes, i tested It and i was able to checkmate
For example, get the 3 last files of the board (doesnt matter if there isnt 12 ranks) you just have to get your king to f7, enemy King to h7, and bishops to g5 and h5 If its your turn: 1. Bg6+ Kh8 2. Bf6# Opponent's turn: 1. Kh8 Bg4 (waiting move) 2. Kh7 Bf5+ 3. Kh8 Bf6# I would recommend trying this on a board to visualize It better
At 6:00 you had the right idea with Bb6 and if Black takes with the bishop it's mate with Nc3+, Ka5 or Kc5, Bb4#. The only way to get out of that predicament for Black is to move one of the light squared Bishops which then you can capture their only dark squared Bishop which guarantees Black can at most get a draw. But you still have mating potential because of the Bishop and Knight.
@@taisgamingchannel8338 Okay, but in a 1x30 chess board, knights and bishops can't move at all, pawns can't capture, the king would take forever to move across the board, and a queen would just be a glorified rook
1d chess rules could apply: kings move one space in either direction, rooks move any spaces in either direction, knights jump two spaces in either directon
