I was gifted a decent plectrum but its hard to get it to sound right without the drone. Is there an alternate tuning off hand that can be used so I can have the alternating bass? You have a good singing voice sir.

Hey Josh. I’m just learning banjo so forgive me if this is a dumb question but the notes in the tab says the tuning is gDGBD with a capo on the 4th making it bF#BD#F#. I don’t understand how a capo on the 4th affects the 5th string. Wouldn’t it still be g?

Yep, you’ll need to raise the 5th string as well - either with a 5th string capo or railroad spike.
