to prepare for this moment charlie hunnam pretty much shunned ron the whole season when they were all together off set ron would ask around if it was something he did or said. it wasnt til well after the fact that he knew why charlie did what he did and he understood it, that shows his dedication to the role of jax teller and tbt im glad he didnt come back to the mayans for a cameo(still 5 episodes left 😂) & you can see & feel the emotions in this scene, literally most of the cast since day 1 are together for this, only 3 missing were DL, emilio and dayton. this storyline of clay and everything he did since before & during season 1 went on for 6 seasons w/ some stops along the way & it came to an end here you can pretty much sense that the series was coming to a close and got the feeling that sutter already had it all planned out. @Dreveryn

As a former member, they still couldn't kill him because there was a previous Mayhem vote that was not unanimous. Killing Clay, even with his patch stripped, would have gone against the club vote. They had to vote it again to supersede the previous failed vote.

If they had done the scene with Jax visible to Tara and Gemma having them actually witness him pulling the trigger I think the scenes would have landed so much harder. Still amazing nonetheless

Why did clay have to meet mr mayhem ?
@whiskerbiscuit6209

He found out clay killed piney. I think there were other things of course. I think also he was beating gemma. I havent watched in a while but thats what i remember

He arranged John Tellers bike to malfunction and cause a fatal accident. He then murdered the mechanic he instructed to sabotage John's bike. He murdered Piney Winston. Tried to have Tara murdered. Then severly beat Gemma when she confronted him about it. Clay earned enough Mayhem votes for multiple lifetimes.

@@paradigm_sh1ft532it was also his mistake that led to Donna being killed.

Ron Perlman, the dude is even more insane irl than in the movies. I feel he has to restrain a bit to act his most insane characters.

@Father Sha true but it was still relatively fast, and like I said it wasn't that Jax was afraid to meet a bullet, no matter what he was dying anyway.
