Fabulous! I think you are very skilled at doing this! It takes a combination of artistry, patience, and believe it or not plain old real life cooking skills. Really neat...thanks for doing these videos!!!

Thank you! Before cutting the clay put it into the fridge (or somewhere cold) for a few seconds, then the layers shouldn't smudge when cutting slices.

Awwwwesome! To cute Ps. To make it easier unread at taking time to poke in the texture you can take a ball of foil and roll it on the clay.

@ALeonorS Well my hands do get a little brown, I guess. But not too badly. And that is because of cold hands or cold clay. When the clay is warm, it's softer..and the color rubs to your hands easier.

Thank you! I use Olympus 1010. It has a macro lense.

Hiya! Well...easily. Use the degrees and time that is said in the clay packaging. For tiny items like this I usually keep them in the oven for 20minutes.
@GentlemanBunny
@GentlemanBunny 15 лет назад
Yup, to make it appear that "spongey" texture that cakes usually have. You poke it with a needle or some people use an old toothbrush or...something ^-^
@GentlemanBunny
@GentlemanBunny 12 лет назад
@xxGreatAlinaxx You roll the clay in your hands and squish it etc. to make it warmer & that way softer.

Instead of pink clay on the top of the cake you could bake it first then get scribbles 3D paint and do the line and then draw it across, then it could have a better effect. Just a tip :D

@XoXForeverStarXoX Hi, well I buy them from a craft store here in Finland. But you can find them worldwide in hobby/craft stores that also sell "jewelry makers" stuff. You can also find them online (for cheaper price than in stores). Oooh yum, cereal milk! That's a very good idea! Thank you :)

@youdarlene505 Cernit (pink)..aand the inside dough color is cernit (gold) mixed with some white.

So they're bit different depending where you buy them. I think the "french" version is more popular at the moment.
@GentlemanBunny
@GentlemanBunny 15 лет назад
You mean the pink streaks? I guess you just have to be careful when handling it. Try putting the cake into a fridge/freezer for a little sec before cutting, that way the cake won't "squish".
@GentlemanBunny
@GentlemanBunny 13 лет назад
@XahaTr0sman Thank you! I use polymer clay (sculpey, fimo, cernit..)

@eraserlover123 Polymer clay. I use three different brands (all are good): FIMO soft, Sculpey Premo, Cernit.
@GentlemanBunny
@GentlemanBunny 14 лет назад
@knr817 I didn't mix the pink clay with anything. I placed it between the two light brown clay pieces for the "cake layers". And then added a sheet of dark brown clay on top of all 3.

it looks very good and real other than the texture of the cake.. to make the texture, dont poke your cake with a tooth pick. do light swirl motions with your tooth pick instead.

Wow, your clay is so shiny. What kind of clay do you use? I got Fimo, and it looses it´s shine after a while of forming, a lot of my fingerprints are seen and it sucks... It sticks to the table and the roller pin - is it too soft or am i forming it too long? That cake look´s great :)

I don't know what a "exact o knife" is. I use a craft knife.. (possibly the same thing?) bought from a craft store here in Finland.
