That's the best and most informative clay shooting video/tuition i have seen in 40yrs of shooting. To achieve that great score with all the background interference was outstanding. Take my hat off to you... as i appreciate the skill and ability required to make this video... Thank you Ben.

Please keep the videos coming. I thought 96 on a tough layout, talking to camera before and after each stand was an excellent score. The weather chucked a bit of everything in too with wind and rain for variety. Thanks again, the efforts you have gone to over the past months from lockdown monologues, interviews and zoom chats with top shooters across the globe to complete rounds is much appreciated.

Excellent video Ben . Thanks for taking the time to produce and post a live video of you in a tournament. for the sake of the viewers , I re-watched it on a bigger screen rather than my phone/tablet and that made a significant difference. Great stuff for all levels I would think . Keep doing this if possible.

Ben, this is a great video. I'm relatively new into the clay sports. Was invited to participate in a sporting clays event 7 years ago and "got the bug". That brought me into trap as my regular league sport and shoot sporting clays for special events. So much fun and truly enjoying it. It takes time, skill and patience. 👍. Fun to watch how easy you make it appear. Thanks.

Ben only just subscribed the other day just got into shotgun shooting I always use a rifle i shoot a shotgun like Roy Orbison at the moment you make it look so easy also getting my 28-year-old son involved to try and keep him on the straight and narrow it’s not easy doing anything and explaining to someone else at the same time let alone being recorded yourself as well total respect it’s a pleasure to be on board.

@evo636
@evo636 3 месяца назад
Interesting how you say that the idea of thinking about what to say to the camera after you have shot plays with your head. It reminds me of a member in a small club I used to shoot at. He used to be near top of the leader board consistently, but then brought his other half and they shot together. His game dropped to a point where he was hitting maybe 40% tops. Everyone noticed it was once he brought his wife. We all thought it was that same mental aspect wrecking havoc. I myself shoot terrible when I go for a 'practice', then on competition days I just feel and perform alot better. Its such a mental game.... but I love it!

FANTASTIC JOB! Thank you for explaining your shot technique as you went along, can really follow the target and watch your move on the bird! Equipment question: 7.5 and 8's mixed in? Did you do any choke changes? Thank you and your crew for a fantastic video!!
@jasonmash6688
@jasonmash6688 4 года назад
I’m pretty sure Ben doesn’t make any choke changes. He’ll use 8’s when the clay is showing a lot of bum or belly and perhaps the bigger shot on more distant edgy type clays. ( better penetration of edge on clays)
@gjepw1
@gjepw1 4 года назад
@@jasonmash6688 Hey Jason, not sure which peg the long springing teal and the close (green) incomer is, but Ben is shooting top barrel first and what looks to be an "open barrel" at the incomer. So he is moving chokes around. I know in the past he has indicated he does change chokes. At about 19 minutes into the video.
@JuruPanda
@JuruPanda 4 года назад
@@gjepw1 Yep. From 19th min he seems to shoot close crosser/incommer with lower barrel. It looks like lower barrel is without a choke or its internal one.... not sure if that's the case. Maybe it just looks that way, but seems like lower barrel is shorter. Would be interesting if @Ben Husthwaite himself would comment on that one.
@gjepw1
@gjepw1 4 года назад
@@JuruPanda He uses Briley extended chokes. so when removed lower barrel is shorter than the choked barrel. He might not be able to comment due to his close relationship to Krieghoff.

On the 1st stand after the half way point (sim pair across the pond) I was surprised to see you shoot it that way round. I'd have done it the other way round, shot the quicker one early and let the 2nd hanging one just sit there for the 2nd barrel - right or wrong? Or personal preference? But that's probably why I'm not a world champion 😄 And how do you grab the shells out your pocket the right way round every time? 😂🤷‍♂️ Something I just never get right. Great video 👍🏼
