"Terrapin" is an 18'6" canoe-yawl built to Chesapeake Light Craft's "Autumn Leaves" design. The builder is David Dawson. The video was taken in October 2019 during the Mid Atlantic Small Craft Festival near St. Michael's, Maryland. These were the second and third sailing outings in the boat, and the rigging was still being tweaked, as expected in a new boat. She's going great, including in very rough conditions on Eastern Bay!
"Terrapin" was built from a kit and is rigged with a balanced lug mainsail and an unstayed mainmast in a tabernacle. The deck layout also differs slightly from the original. (These options are available in plans and kit form.) As of this writing, this is the second hull launched to the "Autumn Leaves" design.
