This build is good but it could be a lot better.... -No Tower Cooler (Use Ryzen Stock Cooler) -Ryzen 5 5500 -> Ryzen 5 3600 or Ryzen 5 5600 for better cache and performance (and PCIe Gen 4.0 compatibility) -GTX 1660 Ti -> Used GTX 1080 Ti (~$150)
They are also terrible for cooling. Intake fans blow straight into a tempered glass panel, causing turbulent flow. And, as I know from my formal aviation training, this is no way to get good cooling performance. I just built in a mesh case - AP 201 - and I'm thinking tempered glass is so last decade. You can still show off if you turn on the lights. The fishtank cases are like the ultimate evolution of the fin on 1950s cars. They rose to epic proportions over the course of a few years and then just went extinct, almost overnight. Hell, my main PC looks almost retro at this point, being in a Zalman S2 TG, looking like 2016 wants their PC case back. But it has last gen hardware in it. At least the original iteration of the glass panel case had more or less straight through airflow. Intake in the front, exhaust in the back and top. This is literally how the first HAF case worked.
If your mind is set to rgb, then go with Kolink Observatory HF Mesh ARGB, is excellent value. Comes with 6x rgb fans under 50. Always count the value of fans included.
I want a Microcenter to come to Buffalo, NY. I would like to have it come to my hometown, but too small to support a store like microcenter even with a college.
Big mistake of turning those fans to intake. Now dust comes in, and there are no dust filters on that case. As a rule, on cheaper cases turn fans to exhaust if you cannot create proper intake/outtake flow .
another good $500 build that will out perform this nice build (all brand new)... You can expect about 30% more performance with an additional 2gb of vram. Ryzen 5 4500 cheap b450 mobo 16gb ddr4 3200 512gb nvme rx 6600
12:17 watching this because I am considering the case. I want to say, why so many installs I have watched of various cases or boards etc, majority do this, do not remove the PCI slot before installing the MB. Then, worry about when removing the slot that it may damage the MB. If you show that part, will be interesting to see how you handle that.
Clean build, but I can't help but chuckle at the fact that you explained the audience how to make sure the ram sticks are seated correctly, but not what cents per point means in 3D Mark Timespy :D
16:44 don't blame the designer for your lack of thought in installation. Thing is, you did this before and had to do it again because first take had no audio and BOTH of you did not think to run the cables through and THEN install the motherboard! I have not done these things in 20 years! I used to when I was in HIGH SCHOOL, in the lab, I double as lab tech!
Thoughts on replacing the Ryzen 5 5500 with a Ryzen 5 3600, depending on the price at the time? I mean, I think they perform basically the same, and both have the same upgrade path. I'd just argue that the 5500 has better RAM headroom.
I have this case, now that it build I love it. But I’m not gonna lie building in it with a full size psu was a little on the rough side. Really take care to get that cable routing figured out before you get goin.
Another know I was using a modular power supply so the connections are in different spots spread across the from on the power supply. Made it a little tougher, so I took the fans out and reinstalled them once I ran my cables
Can you guys do a build to only play steam deck games in 1440p and 4k? Or point me in the right direction. I'm new to PC building and only want to play steam games like my consoles.
I have one PC posted that's built with a lian li case, R7 3700x CPU, gtx 1660 Super, 550w msi psu, 1tb nvme storage, 16gb ddr4 storage, and sleeved cables for only $580 with an activated windows 11 install and its all new parts besides the mobo, cpu, and gpu and its been posted for over a month and no one is interested. Ive had a bunch of views and saves on it but like zero messages, and its already been dropped in price a couple times. Its a weird market right now
You would think triple-a game would mean way more optimized than demanding, without sacrificing visual quality. Triple-A really just means time and money I don’t understand
My pc was on for a good minute but when I started downloading things the screen had like glitchy green lines stretching across the screen and it turned off and won’t turn on, can anyone help me out here?
Hi Toasty Bros! Love your content. Was just wondering if the 1660Ti would also be a good combination for a 5600G, which is also a Gen 3 CPU. Or would an RX 6600 be a better price-to-performance option? Built a GPU-less CPU last year, and thinking of upgrading soon! :D
i found a 2 year used pc with no windows or storage that i found in my local marketplace online it has ryzen 3600 and gtx1660ti oc itx aorus mini itx motherboard taht has wifi n bluetooth 16gb 3200ram and 450w sfx powersupply in a tiny cbue shaped coolermaster case going for 300 euros is that a good deal ? the guy also told me that no one was intrested at the moment in purchasing proly due to the small case and powersupply limitations but i love small itx pc's so i have no issue w anything
and i also found a cheap itx case for 15 euros in my local it store lol plus 30 40 $ for the storage that i must install first and foremost total cost about 350$ not bad : )
@@aleksazunjic9672 the price he has set on it is 340$ rn and it has no storage but amma try make it like 270 280 since he doesnt rly need the pc anymore and the pc has been on sale for like 9 months no and no dm's on his phone so
hey toasty bros what's the best upgrade for a Hp z440 computer I want to do some upgrades for this computer except I don't know what's the best recommended
if your power supply can power a gpu then that would prob be the best move if you don’t have one. but if it doesn’t i have seen online that you can put normal atx power supplies in office machines. only issue is the office machines dont usually use 24pin for the motherboard so you have to buy a connector. i know dell optiplexs use 8pin to 24pin connectors if you add a new power supply. and there’s always ram if you are at 8gb. 16 seems to be the bare minimum for games now ☹️
Please for the love of god, spend like 20$ to get a modular power supply. I promise having all those cables you don’t need, DOES NOT make it easier for new builders
I get that these guys might appeal to a certain crowd, the beginner crowd.. but you’re 100% right Modular is so much easier and will make understanding things easier. I try to teach people by telling them it’s easier than building a for 8 year olds Lego set, because it really is There’s only 1 possible combination for parts (hang on), and just like cats, if it fits, it sits. Only exception being 8 pin EPS and 8 Pin.PCI-E, but those are labelled, sadly I’ve seen RU-vidrs make this very mistake lol.
