this is still early crossfit when weightlifting techniques were more suggestions than the rule. You get multiple press outs and inadequate rest when going for 90%+
@@samgao I know, but they should be more stricts with form. Even by weightliftind standards, the Fronin one would have been a fail (the elbows bend a little bit before locking).
This is actually the stupidest shit I ever seen they are ruining every single part of their bodies risking injury for what? Crossfit games? Strenght and endurance mixed in this way is the most dumbest shit you can ever do
@@Someone-hs5yb that one was actually a good lift and would have been considered good even under Olympic standards, most of the other ones I completely agree with you abiut
Clynt Louise Conlu do you know how hot it was that year 😰 I would’ve been in my boxers if I was there 🤣 just say there basking in the sun. Would’ve been a killer.
hahaha well first of all, the clean and jerk isnt a "crossfit" lift. dont know if you meant that but based on the context of your statement, thats what you implied. Secondly, it really isn't hard to master. thirdly, these people in exception of a few do not have the clean and jerk mastered hahahaha. That's why crossfit is given so much hate. The training methods are completely retarded, the rules are a joke, and the individuals that perform the lifts generally suck cock at them. Dont wanna be the one to break the bad news to you but crossfit is a joke..
Aja Barto was an absolute beast... I remember watching this back in 2013 just amazed at how well he did in this event... sucks he doesn’t compete anymore
if you put Lu in this shitty sport he too will look like a dork, the problem is not in the athletes themselves but the rules of the competition, olympic weightlifting is based on tempo and explosive lifting that is achieved by optimal rest between the sets and not competing in how more can you do in less time
@@theylivewesee1674 even though it would not be optimal he would still kill this event because even the heavier weights here are something xiaojun could do for consecutive reps
@Colonel Cuck Of The Cuckold Army Holy what r u saying? Lu could make 207kg or even more in clean&jerk. U doubting him can't destroy these people??? 355lbs for lu is just warmup
Please tell me they have some way to correct for or separate by the clearly different weight classes they have mixed in with each other. A 5'8" 180-190 guy clean/jearking 355 is way more impressive than a 6'0" 210-220 guy doing the same and the former should get more points than the latter due to that.
+AceandScotch2 not really haha, if someone has a lot of weight but its all muscle their stamina shouldnt be too much less. Overall heavier guys always have advantage
@@ashgaden depends on the distance actually. Short sprints favor short people, 200m-1 mile favors tall people and after that it's just all about not weighing much
I may be wrong and if I am please Correct me but I feel as if starting out on a heavier weight the person has a slight advantage as the others. Because starting at 285 and going up by the time your at the heavier weight you will be much more fatigued !
Schon beeindruckend wenn man Athleten dabei beobachtet, die diesen Bewegungsablauf tatsächlich beherrschen und mit deutlich weniger Körpergewicht sogar mehr Gewicht bewegen und das teilweise sogar snatchen
My question is, they aren't worried somebody might go too far forward and drop the bar on someone in front of them? Seems like an accident waiting to happen.
This is so pointless why not intead of doing such slow low progressions why not let them have 3 attempts at weights of their choice and then youd get into the "big boy weights"
I've been doing CF for like a year now, and loving it. However, it's shit like 36:03 that gives CF a bad rep. I really can't tell if the dude was being ironic or not with the "split power clean" bullshit
7 years past and I still love the commentators saying these guys using the bounce is efficient and not a blatant 3 red lights in every other weightlifting event ever, Jason Khalifa is “so strong” but clearly failed 3 lifts, but Crossfit wants to know why it got the flack it got for years. At least some of the guys now can actually lift who lead the sport
It got flack for years because of people simply not understanding what CrossFit actually is. The whole, that is illegal in weightlifting events is irrelevant, because it is not a weightlifting championship. Crossfit is and always has been about pushing the limits of what it means to be an athlete at the top of their game. It is why they do the kipping pull ups, because needing to do a pull up "properly" is much easier than Murph, or Atalanta is. Efficiency is super important in CrossFit, this is very clear to anyone who can see, with their eyes. Really all you have done is prove you are one of the people who just doesn't want to understand. My best piece of advice is maybe don't watch something you don't enjoy. Your life will be a lot less sad. Watch your weightlifting.
I always love how people hate on crossfit so much. If you don't like it don't do it but don't hate on people for wanting to get in shape. These elite crossfitters lift a shit ton of weight and have great cardio. It's about being an overall athlete not just being a specialist.
+AceandScotch2 If they didn't call it the Clean and Jerk, then there'd be less of that. Problem is, CrossFit insist on calling this event a Clean and Jerk, but then allow any exercise that gets a barbell above someone's head, even if it isn't a Clean and Jerk.
No, they clean the bar up and raise it over their heads. Some of them jerk the bar, but some of them do not. It is acceptable for a competitor here to get the bar over their head through any combination of a jerk or a press, with or without carrying momentum from the clean. This isn't about their jerk form being bad, or wrong, it's about the fact that what some competitors are doing is not a jerk *at all*. Yes, this is an argument about semantics, but semantics are important. I'm not trying to say that CrossFitters should be held to the standard of Oly lifting, I'm saying that they shouldn't use the terminology of Oly lifting incorrectly.
I agree that it's not a big deal (I offered it more by way of explanation of why people care). The one potential problem of it is that mixing styles can be unsafe. Straightforwardly pressing rather than jerking is fine, but you see a few of these guys jerk, fail to hit lock-out and then press the bar the rest of the way, which can be seriously risky (which is the primary reason that it's banned in Oly competition). The *safe* thing to do if you try to jerk and miss the lockout is to intentionally fail the lift. I do worry about spectators watching competitors do things which aren't safe, having it ok'ed by CrossFit and therefore thinking it's ok. Yes, they should't be doing Oly lifts if they're not trained, but that won't actually stop people...
