You got a wonderful, soothing, calming deep voice. I really love it! you bring a unique new awesome image for a game streamer! Your setup is beautiful! really makes me rethink about my workspace lol
Fantastic set up, doesn't feel too over the top and very.. gentle. it looks like an environment i can see myself feeling productive and inspired as opposed to feeling overwhelmed and cluttered. Clean, Minimalist with a notch of a nice sleek/modern flavor on top of it. That Neoleaf goes perfectly with the wallpaper, even the spacings are nice and even from what i can tell. This is truly inspiring. I'm in the middle of doing a set up myself that i'd like to somehow find the middle ground between gaming and artsy/design since I'm an art director and designer. This video is giving me ideas, so thanks for sharing! P.S. Doing an updated cable management video would be awesome!
Thanks! I'd prefer to use passive speakers; however, I feel adding a full sized receiver to this setup would be too bulky and would ruin the minimalist elements...although, it would be really cool!
Your videos really helped me pick the right office gear. Really appreciate it. Did you ever make a post how you setup that sweet bee/carbon wall background? It's incredible.
Thanks! I made a video talking about the wallpaper. It is called 'Office Decor Ideas' (or something to that effect) - I did a talking head intro that was absolutely awkward lol. If you overlook that bit, it was a decent video.
What's up Myxo14? I purchased/built my FlexiSpot Sit/Stand desk after watching your video. I was inspired by your video to also work on a minimalist setup. I've also elevated/inclined my speakers on sound isolators and moved my microphone to a similar position. I'm hoping to tackle cable management soon, so I'll be watching for your updated cable management video. I'm hoping my budget will support new wireless peripherals. BTW, the wallpaper & RGB panels look great. I'm a Retired DAV, and I love watching your videos -- super design ideas! Keep the videos coming.
Thanks for the kind words man! I'm glad my videos were able to help you out. I've a cousin who served in the US military and is now retired also. RU-vid for now is a hobby for me, but there will definitely be new videos on the channel soon. I'm hoping I'll be able to post more consistently by the summer. I should have a Massdrop AKG K7XX headphone review up in a couple weeks. Thanks for your support!
How do you like the embody as a guitarist? I need a better chair but it's hard to find something ergonomic that I can comfortably play guitar in as well.
I have to sit in the middle of the Embody seat pan to play without the arms of the chair hitting the guitar - so there is no back support. It doesn't bother me really as I always lean forward while playing anyway. I recently chatted with a youtuber with a guitar channel who was interested in an Aeron chair. He opted to take the arms off of the chair completely. The same can be done for the Embody.
After watching this video, as well as going to your channel to see your DIY videos and tips, I think you have a great opportunity to grow in this RU-vid genre. Great video. I'm excited to see what's to come in the future.
Your setup is awesome! I have the same Alienware monitor and I'm curious: which monitor arm do you use for it? I plan on mounting mine to the desk as well and would like a solid recommendation.
I’m copying your setup and no shame cause it looks fantastic. I think that monitor layout is perfect, the only thing I’m changing is I’m sick of large fancy computers, next build I’m going SFF in an ncase m1.
What is the width of the benq when you put it into portrait mode? I check the amazon link and it looks to be the size with the stand. I'll be buying one if I have enough desk space. This is the first Ultra wide that has a side monitor thats aesthetically pleasing. Good job
Nice setup. Minimalist is always nice. Mine is alot like yours. And rightly so, the Ultra-Wide hype IS real. I have the Acer Predator. Dig that chair, too! Just too pricey for me to ever justify. Like the wall treatment as well. Nice vid.
I’m really thinking about upgrading my chair, I currently use a leather one. But I want to go soft/cloth this time do you think the chair you have now will be a lot more resistance then leather. I was looking into secret labs .
I had a look at the HX, they're definitely not ergotron. I've searched everywhere for them and can't find them...so my best guess is they're discontinued.
Awesome, and very informative for building out a studio/tech-play space! I'm in the process of building up a sit/stand arrangement for all the things. Sounds like your weight balanced mechanism desk is no longer manufactured and I fear electronic mech would fail and leave me stranded (based on Ikea and Amazon reviews) so seems only path is to go for a manual crank setup. One of my requirements is to have a MIDI keyboard recessed down into the desk so I am considering the IKEA tops but would need to cut into.....their website says the Karlby core is particle board so I wonder if you have a sense of the density i.e. is it more dense like MDF, or more like the loose cornflake type particle board? Anyway very cool studio and kit! Subd'!
Thanks man! That sounds like an awesome idea...modding the keyboard into the desk. Drilling holes into the karlby (from the underside/not the walnut side) was really easy. There was little resistance that I recall. Unfortunately, I didn't get a very good sense of density. There is a RU-vidr by the name of David Zhang who has a video where he cut into an ikea desk (not the karlby) to find out exactly what the middle was made of. I can't remember what the video was named, but it was made in 2017. If I recall, it looked like the middle was cardboard. Good luck!
Fantastic setup. Definitely goals right there. Would love that desk but unfortunately there isn't an IKEA in my area and shipping is almost as expensive as the desk!
Thanks man! From what I've heard, ikea shipping is crazy expensive for certain items. As a side note, the legs of my desk aren't from ikea...they are Ergotech legs I bought used.
Thanks man! They're United Stock Dry Goods. Funny that you asked cause I just got a new pair last week. They'll definitely make an appearance in my next video (in a couple weeks)! USDGs is definitely my favorite denim.
Re the raceway, its completely attached to the bottom of the desk via double sided tape? No screws? Wondering how is it holding up due to the weight of all the cables?
No screws, just lots of double sided tape. The raceway hasn't come apart or fallen down since I stuck it there. Make sure to use the Scotch 3M brand tape...being it sticks the best.
Thanks man! I'm definitely not a pro, but here are a few tips that work for me... 1) I record about a foot away from my mic 2) Get a good pop filter for your mic 3) Keep a glass of water near by while doing voice overs
@@Myxo14 thanks for quick reply, yeah I was just a bit concerned putting a 38 inch on a monitor arm in middle but seems sagging is coming mostly from people who put the top on drawers at either side rather than standing desks
Awesome desk. I can't decide if I should pair my Jarvis sit stand desk frame with the ikea Karlby or the home depot hardwood reflections solid wood walnut top. I'm concerned the Karlby is not solid wood and can't support triple monitors and a heavy pc tower. How has the Karlby held up to sagging or anything for the last 2 years?
