Found a very mouldy green sandwich under the drivers seat after I removed it from a used BMW I bought. I removed the seat and turned around and the dog was eating the sandwich....YUK!
When I was a kid in the late 80's me and a friend used to go to the local towies yard which was just a paddock at the end of a short road close to our house.we would search through the cars for money.usually did ok best thing was the bakery was at the start of the road had to go past it on the way out.there cream donuts were the best
Another fine tube video mate. And hey im with you been using armour all. Since ive been maintianing cars. Awsome product. Now i see the front seats are so easy to remove. I will do the same to my ba xr6 turbo. 👌 cheers
Took the back seat out of a Leyland P76 V8 and found a pair of ray ban Aviators from early 70's mint must have been lost by the original owner back in 1974.
I remember when the XD came out and the huge fanfare involved. People actually were genuinely excited to see the new models. Not like nowadays. It’s really sad we don’t have our own cars any more.
@Glenn MK my Dad had Cortinas for company cars. The last one was platinum silver with a black vinyl roof and a 2.0L. Loved that car. I still remember the first time I saw a Mk2 RS2000. I was in awe!
Did find about $12 under the center console of my Au Fairlane awhile back. Being a old taxi thats done 352000kms was the cause of it, also under the console was about 6 cigarette lighters and a old hotel key.
I put seat covers on when I bought the car and never noticed there was some Maccas remnants in the crack between the seat and backrest.. Over a year later I changed the covers and found a Maccas chip, not only did that look completely fresh but so did a piece of lettuce! Quite a while before I ate the stuff again lol.
2:56 This is probably BS, but years ago I remember someone telling me that 85% of all cars on Australian roads have at least one chip (or french fry) underneath one of the seats.
That anger in your voice when you find a maccas chip and not a Kentucky one. I love it. Also, was wondering, would you use the same method cleaning the velour in the NC?
I just spent the weekend doing this - pulled all my seats out and even took the carpet out. Steam cleaned it all and left it to dry in 30 degree heat. Put it all back in and looks and smells new. Very rewarding. As always fantastic video - I relate a lot to your content, always gotta penny pinch!
Awesome video I took the seats out of the 2001 Au my family got and It was gross but it’s clean now and in my 96 XH Ute I use ARMORALL Tyre Foam to clean and shine my Interior it looks new
I once lost my Nokia 2600 with polyphonic ringtones in the back of my mums VR station wagon when I was like 12, We found it a few years later when we were cleaning it up to sell it. It was wedged all the way under the back seats . Charged it up and checked my old text messages haha. Great video man, thorough as always.
Having done this several times on various falcons, i highly recommend lubing your seat tracks pre reinstalling, crc or wd your connectors especially after having moisture in the vacinity. Also spray your carpet and seats with a clothes stain remover like preen or wonder white etc. Suds it up, wash with clothing detergent water mix and suck the guts out of it with the wet dry. Doing it about 3 times will have the car clean as new! Air dry with all doors open. Minty fresh when its all dry and done. Love the channel bro! Cheers
I followed your method on my car last week - bought the same toolpro wet vac and used regular car wash on the carpet and seats. Came up great and smells good. Summer is a great time to do it.
Ha ha finding cash is grear. I bought a triton single cab ute and realised the handbrake light wouldn't come on when applied...so I pulled the whole interior for a massive clean and found $13.80 filling the spot under the handbrake and hence jamming the button that allows the light to come on. By the way, Tritons suck.
I'm with you with the Armor All, been using it for yonks and no issues ever! And I also had purchased those front floor mats for my BA RTV, they've been beautiful, I'd highly recommend. As the RTV has plastic flooring in it I was iffy that they'd slip about, as the backing would normally grip to carpet. But that hasn't been the case, because they're moulded there is very minimal slipping. A good product.
My dad once bought an old 1988 camry , after we got it home and he went inside I popped my hand under the driver seat and found a thick Porn Magazine , had a nice flick , discovered the meaning of life , then put it back under the seat (was 15 at the time) , a few days later.. i caught my dad flicking through the fucker in the front seat , then he saw me and panicked and tried to hide it , he later proceeded to go to the bin to supposedly "throw it away" , few weeks later.. found it on top of the wardrobes in our house ahhahahahha , think it ended up with my uncle a few months later lol, i don't blame him haha, that was a good bloody magazine (;
I always used to sprinkle a bit of household carpet deodoriser on the area just under the front seats just to give it a fresh smell every time the doors were opened.
My donor car for my fairlane ute had shotgun shells and 22 shells in it seat rails were full of gold coins and suspicious baggies stuck to the back side of the glove box
I love finding money in all the cars I have bought, Ive found a bag of weed behind the centre console in a Magna. I decided to call the cops just in case I was ever pulled over and had the dog squad on me so I could save my ass lol
I remember as a kid one morning i was heading to school it my mums 2004 Toyota Camry, for some reason i had $2 and dropped it down the hole of doom in the back Seat. I also did the same with a Strepsil, today there is yet for some money and melted Strepsil crap to be discovered.
One of my mates got given a Camry from his sister in law a few years back. I won't talk about the alive things we found under the back seat (they had kids that clearly got to eat in the car more than they ate any other place), but we found (I think, can't quite remember) $22.70 in that thing. It was almost worth dealing with the grot, it did buy us lunch so all in all, not a bad day
Pick yourself up a Bowden's Own Flathead wheel brush so you can clean the brake dust from your barrels On the wheels. It will last you a long time plus it's a investment into keeping you car's looking cleaner. 👍
I like your "slightly dodgy" cleaning method. It is the best and cheapest method around. This year however, I have switched products from Meguiars to Bowden's Own. You should look at their Fully Slick bottle, they are truly slicker than your average... and best of all it's at Aussie (Queensland) made and owned.
Excellent work mate, I love cleaning my AU Fairmont, S3 as often as I can like yours I got her with about 138,000 km. Going to have to give that leather cleaner a shot on mine, as she looks really good inside and I agree with you about that Armorall Protectant stuff been using that on mine as well :). got into a bit of detailing a year ago always enjoy it when its my car haha. Mate do you know if they have anything like those front matts for the AU Falcon or Fairmont as I would really really love to get a set of those for my AU 3 :).
I can’t get past you violating the interior with Armorall. Try Aerospace 303, you’ll never use much else again. Also good engine dressing; well better than the foaming tyre cleaner.
So my first car had dust under the sit covers and miss it was surprising when the car been sitting in the same spot for a year before I got it When my dad got a 05 bf wagon ex taxi we found little 30 something dollars and that was just the notes
I do the same, at least once a year then do a deep clean, then through out the yr it's just as easy to vacuum and wipe, keeps the car looking great and smells great.....as NO SMOKING in my car lol, great video like usual 👍👍
Use Bowden's Own, they are Australian made and owned right here in Queensland. But most importantly, Bowden's are a cut above Armour all and Meguiar's. You seem quite patriotic, so I'm a little surprised you would support foreign owned companies over Aussie owned.
@David D Now, as many of us know, the term ‘Australian made’ can be confusing. Some ‘Australian’ products actually contain foreign materials. But with a focus on transparency, Bowden’s Own lets consumers know exactly where their money is going. As an example, take Bowden’s Auto Body Gel. It’s a 100% Australian-made product. It’s made by Australian chemists. It’s made from local ingredients. And it’s blended in an Australian factory. The plastic bottle - including the lid - is also Australian-made. It even bears a locally designed and printed label. As well as local production, Bowden’s Own goes further to keep profits and jobs in Australia: The brand works with Australian suppliers whenever possible. It designs and makes most of its brand packaging in Australia. It works with the Endeavour Foundation to provide jobs for people with disabilities. In the interest of balance, we will point out that not every Bowden’s Own product is Australian-made. And to its credit - the brand is very open about that. Some of the microfibre cloths come from overseas, albeit as a last resort. The decline of local manufacturing has made some things impossible to source here. Some of Bowden’s Own products come from abroad - and are hand-checked and packed in Australia. In recent times, many Australian companies have found it hard to compete. But with passion, hard work, and a sense of humour - the Bowdens continue to grow.
Pulling the seats is a pain, but its the best clean my cars had, you can just get everywhere so easy.. I did find a few bucks in a car id just bought once 😁👍🏼
I pulled the back seat out of my Lincoln MKZ and found a compact umbrella in there. It wasn't mine I bought the car certified pre owned with 9k miles. Guess they didn't need that umbrella haha
I can remember when i was detailing cars at a car yard, i saw a purple BA XR6T for sale; had no car at the time myself, but told the other detailer i would buy a B Series one day- owned an Ex Landsborough cop car, brought a brand new BF MK2 XR8 (later did a GT500 engine swap in it 😍), owned an F6 Tornado, and now have an FG MK2 XR6 N/A (build, fit & finish is really crap compared to the BF- even the BA series
Much tidier 👍 that trim is one thing I really do miss from my BA!👌 The vinyl floor mats are a little "taxi spec" for me😏 But I'm sure they're very effective at preserving the carpet 👍
damn, not much in the rear seat piggy bank mate, when I removed the rear seat out of my BA I found $12. The size of the $2 coin is especially made to fall out of any pocket.
Can’t help but notice how the underside of the seat base is near on identical to the same year Commodore. Right down to the plastic wiring panel. Rear mount on rail is ever so slightly different.
How good are those floor mats for real though. I have them in my ute and they're brilliant. but a thorough clean is something I definitely need to do... Great video as always.
My EB II came with a free load of ants, never found out where they came from or where they went (and the car wasn't terribly dirty). I'm yet to pull the back seat out. In the Camry my grandfather owned from new (and I inherited), I found an air freshener and a perfectly preserved McDonalds chip, under the back seat which would've been from 5 year old me close to 15 years ago (I was the only one who ate back there). Other than that, the Hilux my parents have owned for longer than I have been alive, had quite a few coins under the rear bench seat. It's interesting to see your BA has that orange powder on the seat rails/bracket covers. My EB seats do the same thing.
@@MotoringBoxTV they must have some good preservatives! I found something interesting tucked into the roof though. A piece of paper from the Broadmeadows plant, with paint/panel corrections to be made to my car while it was on the production line. It even had red overspray on it from the in-house repair. Apparently they were never meant to be left in the car, so they’re pretty hard to come across.
I had the same powder in my ba Fairmont. I think you will find its the seat foam. It kinda goes like powder for some reason. Seems to be a falcon thing. Must be the sort of foam the use for the seat bases
@@briancurran1086 that’s what I was thinking, the foam gets turned into a powder where it interferes with the hinges and such. At least it’s not as bad as that horrible yellow headlining adhesive, that turns into a tacky sand-like material! Hated cleaning that up when I had my headlining redone.
I managed to knock over a 4l tin of oil based undercoat in the back of my wagon. Oh well, at least it's a work car and the inside matches the outside for having paint everywhere now.
I love your videos but mate, those rubber floor mats are completely hideous! The rest of your BA looks fantastic but the footwells look like they've been prepared for a scat film.
Really need to do this to my car. Been telling the other half I need to do it. But it's middle winter her in the UK, cold and wet, not the best time of year or do it and no garage. Great work.
Once I got a car given to me and pulled the seats out and console to give the car interior a swap clean I ended up finding $100 worth of one and two dollar coins
Your methods are great. Yes if they were heavily soiled I'd definately use a proper wash/dry vac and scrub it but as they were not bad what you did was ideal. I too love a good detail but as you said if you regularly keep on top of keeping it clean you won't need a deep range very often. I too have been using Armourall for a long time, my grandad too. Love the stuff
I had a BA Fairmont. Have you thought about upgrading to a leather console lid and leather park brake cover? Nice little video. You don’t realise how much dirt and grot are under your seats.
Great video. Was wondering if you could do a video on the BA/BF handbrake sensor how to fix, when the light on Dash and the Bing noise intermittently keeps coming on occasionally due to undulations in the road. That would be a good video.
cars a literary gold mine when cleaning especially with kids or in my case niece/nephew in my current car I bought this guy must of had a shoe fetish because the boot was full of shoes/thongs
