Given that Tower fans always need cleaning and yet they design them in such a way that they cannot be opened or cleaned, this tells me that any tower fan manufacturer is a selfish, greedy corporation bent on filling landfills with tower fans.
*Love the size and it fits perfectly in a corner but **Fastly.Cool** the whole room. Really like how you can auto adjust how long you want the fan to be on. It is quite but highly effective.*
First and last time I buy a tower fan. It wasn’t hard. Just tedious I’ll stick to the OG oscillating ones. Easier maintenance Thanks for the helpful video
Good advice, except for the wd40, which can attract dust, and make the area gunky. Dry lubricants, like a graphite one just as an example(that I use in key locks, like in a door handle) does a great job without attracting dirt and dust. Thanks for the informative video :)
Various different models and mine had two broken blades. You gave me the courage to ease open the casing (4 self tappers) and superglue the blades back. Beware: we accidentally tipped our fan over when running and this happened.
Thx for sharing. I've not clean my tower fan for yrs 😅😅. Didn't see a need but the wind is getting weaker probably because too much dust trapped inside.
Thank you for the video! We got a free fan and I had no idea how to clean it but it was too dirty for me to even turn it on and see if it worked. This helped a ton.
Wow! Thank you so much. I absolutely love my tower fan but did not think you were able to clean it. Your video was very helpful. Thank you so much! :-)
OMG!!!! Never spray lubricant in a fan. EVER!!! Just take it out side and use compressed air while the fan is running at high speed for the fan. Make sure your up wind. For general cleaning Use about 2-3 inch circles with compressed air at different angles for the return and supply fins. If it running slow or squeaking you will need to take it apart and lubricate the 3 bearings in a tower fan. finish blowing all the internal components especially the motor before taking the motor apart. also this is a good time to wash the fan itself.
Hi, it is a great video and surely helped bunch of people on how they can clean their own tower fan. I would like to suggest that using something softer like expired credit card or anything that is not hard when popping or opening in between the gaps. Reason is because using screwdriver or something made of metal will leave dents and may even crack the plastic housing.
Thank you for that, I was concerned but thankfully no cracks no breaks, just couldn't get the back completely off of my Aloha Tower fan, not sure why. Not a really my forte.
Since purchasing it, ru-vid.comUgkxQuBMI30VhO6fDed6NOsYftsoNa8x0UZ5 this fan is a trustworthy companion during the hot nights in Texas for me. The sleep mode is really quiet and gives you smooth wind to cool down. At full speed the fan is quite noisy but also very strong.Only weird thing is that if there is a draught from another fan, the sleep mode would speed up occasionally (getting a bit louder, probably to level 2 out of 4). This never happened so far when I used only this fan though.
Nicely done...thank you...after spraying with a bit of WD-40 to clean things up... I will finish off lubricating the fan with a light oil that will lubricate better and last longer.
WD-40 is highly mistaken to be a lube. It will make it run smoother for awhile, but soon will be even worse because the wd-40 flushed out all of the essential lubricants. It’s a degreaser. Use a lithium type grease. You can get this online anywhere, and if you want you can even look for lithium bike lube. Also never spray anything just “In there”, near the motors. If you want the fan to keep running, you will need to take it apart further if necessary to lube the bearings only. Motors are not just magical devices, but are filled with electrical components and conductors. Spraying stuff on them can damage them or cause other issues.
WD-40 was introduced in 1953. Its name stands for water displacement try #40. It’s purpose was to keep Atlas missiles (equipped with nuclear warheads) for rusting while sitting in their silos for long periods of time. It is non flammable and is also a lubricant. It is not however, a degreaser.
I got a bit older model where i have to masically force a screwdriver inside the to to get it odd and then force the backcover off (wich will break it) so no cleaning for meeeeeeee... (model i got is basically one of those they dont want you to clean but want you to buy a new..)
YTA that’s exactly why I found this video! Ugh! I took the fan outside and now I understand why I’m not breathing well in the bedroom. Lol. Maybe husband will breathe better too (I’ll notice even tho he’s usually oblivious)
I just spent over 20 minutes trying to take the cover off. I removed the screws before hands. My days this was so annoyingly tricky. I ended up breaking a clip at the bottom. Very badly designed for dismantling.
Actually don't use the WD40 on the fan that will dry out on you. So if your fan starts to get stuck it's because of that use lithium grease it works better and won't make your fan stuck
Didn't have the same model fan and I was still able to take my fan apart. A flathead screwdriver is almost essential with this process, nevertheless my tower fan came off just like the one in the video did. Thanks!
...jajaja...Thank you so much...you very smart.. very good tip ...I have a lasko tower ...maybe for more then 8 yrs but still working..I have to open it I have to try...Thanks againg...!!
At 2:40, I guess she's suppose to explain how some tower fans differ from the one she cleaned, but nope. She basically just repeated the same method for the one she cleaned.
You need to use a real lubricant for electric motors similar to the blue “3 in 1” electric motor oil lubricant. NEVER AND I REPEAT, *NEVER* Use WD40 as a lubricant! ITS FOR CLEANING ONLY!
