Wow those looked nice after you were done. If you wouldnt mind to please link products you use next time I have some boots that need some love and do not know what to use
Hello! thanks for the question. I can't really say whether these boots are a good value since I don't know how much they cost or what kind of use they received. The leather felt like a nice CXL leather (think AE Higgins Mill) and they had nice weight to them. Now, something I did not mention in the video because I just noticed towards the end and it was a cleaning video, not a review video, is the stitches on the back holding the heel counter to the upper quarter where the boot strap is had become undone on one of the boots. There was about a 3/4 inch length where all the stitches were gone. I've read on some reviews of different JCrew boots how they retail for $270, but during special sales you can get for below $200. At
I prefer applying it with my fingers because I can tell where it has too much and where it is still dry. On large boots I tend to use a rag because it is faster. Whatever works for you is fine.
Javier's Hobbies thanks for the reply. Also how did you think the orthostep cream polish worked? I’m looking to cover some scratches that are showing in my boots (same jcrew ones you restored in the video)
@@brandoncooper5921 Hello, The orthostep cream was not a very good idea on my part. That boot is made with CXL leather which is an oily leather, so any product that contains waxes (like regular shoe cream or shoe wax) is not recommended. A more appropriate product would be "Saphir greasy leather cream". Just type it like that at the Amazon prompt. It comes in brown, black and neutral. Have fun!
Hello, the boots I'm wearing in this video are the made by Frye and are called the Bowery Lace Up. I bought them in cognac and did a custom dye job on them. You can see that in another one of my videos. Thanks. Here is a link to the boots: www.thefryecompany.com/products/bowery-lace-up-3480193-80193-cognac
hi .Please help me if you know. My American shoes size is 11.5. But j crew official site says that they build their shoes half size small. Do you know anything about it? Can you recommend me anything in this regard? Thanks
Hi, sorry, but i'm not familiar with JCrew boot sizing. I went to their website to read their reviews but it was not very helpful Some reviews said true to size and some said they were half size large so I have no idea. Best of lucks!
@@denniskireev9861 I don't know my Brannock device shoe size. With sneakers they are all over the place. They range from a 10 in converse to an 11.5 in others. Boot size will vary depending on each companies shoe last. In Allen Edmonds I am a 10.5 as well but even in that brand the fit changes. The Higgins mill fits perfect, while the Strands fit a bit more snug.
