Good Points. However I thought Cat guys drive Black Dodge.......I remember my first sled 81 Yamaha SRX440. Won many poker rally’s, drags, etc on that sled. I never did any maintenance to it. Filled it up and go. Kept it for 8 years. That Little Yamaha was a Tank. Nothing ever broke. This is a good video. Thank You.

Thank you for this video. I loved the cleaning clutches one two. When you change your chain case oil at the end of the year. Do you change it at the beginning of the year too.
@DIGIT9
@DIGIT9 2 года назад
Nope , I change it once a yr , either when I have time putting sled away for summer or when getting ready in the fall !

Lovin your content! You guys are supplying some very easily digestible knowledge. Keep up the great work! Maybe to a comparison video as to the difference in summerizing an EFI sled vs. a carb sled? On the newer EFI style sleds, do you recommend fogging the motor for summerization as well? Sleds I have are a 16' RMK 155" and a 05' Renegade X 800 137"
@DIGIT9
@DIGIT9 4 года назад
Never been a big fan of "Fogging " the engine ! I've always drained fuel tank , drain carbs , put a bit of oil down each cylinder , and called it good ! Fuel Inj sleds are a bit different ! Still dont like fogging ! Little fuel stabilizer in tank , run sled for a bit , then drain as much out of tank as you can ! Still put oil down cylinders and call it good !
@fricot_21

DIGIT9 thanks for the response and wealth of information! I will be sure to take these steps over the coming weeks to prep my sleds for summer! Do you let your sleds sit all summer or do you periodically start them and get them up to temp every few weeks?
@DIGIT9
@DIGIT9 4 года назад
I start them once a month ! I always seem to be working on one or two of them over the summer , so like to get a shot of that 2stroke smell every once in awhile !!

What are you talking about? It says in my polaris manual to spin the track on a stand every time before you ride. Also why would only polaris do that?
@chrisfitts5564
@chrisfitts5564 Год назад
Good vid! Curious why you say fogging is a waste of time. I know the sleds make it harder to do/access. But I have always fogged or at least put mystery oil in the cylinders. Engine corrosion, in my opinion, is more of a concern than track adjustment or annual clutch work. Both of which are great ideas.
@DIGIT9
@DIGIT9 Год назад
My opinion is that oil is better for the engine than the fog !
@theoneandonlytudryn
@theoneandonlytudryn Год назад

Very nice video! I am new to snowmobiling, and have a Polaris Indy LXT that ive been trying to really keep maintained by the book. I was just wondering, washing it up, is there anything on the underneath that I should avoid hitting with a hose or power washer? Or can I soak it pretty good without any issues. Thank u!

Hey Rick your thoughts on changing the chaincase oil in the fall? I change all of the fluids for my boat in the spring as season starts. Just so the freshest stuff is being used. Could this logic apply to sled chaincase fluid too?

So leaving it up on the stand is bad for the rear suspension? If I have a lift like yours ?
@DIGIT9

Better to lift whole sled off of ground ! Lifting just the back , puts all the weight on front springs and compresses them !

Why in the world would you use sta-bil. Your fuel and water separates. I use sea foam in my corvette, simplicity mower, Harley Davison, and both Arctic cats. Never a problem. Just my two cents.
