Thanks I'm setting up a new keezer and looking through my old stuff. I now know I have both forward-sealing and standard taps. The forward sealing taps have springs in them that close the tap when the handle is released. Standard taps I guess do not and have to be actively pushed back to close?

Forward ceiling faucets do not always have springs. The springs are sold separately in a lot of the intertap and perlick faucets. Typically you have to push them both back forward to shut off. The difference is just whether they seal in the front of the faucet or in the back of the faucet, forward ceiling has less air in the faucet and will not be subject to molding or mildew getting in the faucet when you're not using it. PS... I highly recommend getting the springs for the faucets though... You can't bump them an accidentally lose all your beer lol

I didn't get a tap wrench with my tap. What will happen if that isn't tight enough? I'm guessing it will leak. :-( After watching this I tightened the bonnet a little more and now it doesn't seem like it will accidently open so easily. Once again your videos have been really helpful. If the Oxyclean I ordered didn't get lost in the mail I would be almost ready to brew again. But, exciting news! I have a brew kettle just like yours on the way and it will be here Tuesday! :-D Hopefully the Oxyclean will also be here by then. Oh yeah. lol I have one tap installed in my kegerator. The second one should also be here Tuesday. Life is GOOD!

Awesome! Yeah those little tap collar wrenches help a lot. In a pinch you could use a big pliars, but that will eat up the collar pretty good if you do that every time. I would get one eventually! They're only a few bucks.

where do I find shanks to attach to wood and then attach the faucet and tap for an art installation piece??

Do you mean the insert so you can screw on a different tap handle? If so, those are called brass wood insert nuts. 3/8-16 size. Here's a link to ones that works with tap handles. amzn.to/3OL8xU7

Or if you mean the part that would normally go through the refrigerator door, then you need this piece. 4 inch Shank: amzn.to/3CM2o5E

I appreciate all the suggestions, but I need just one piece to make it stay in a solid wood base, no liquid will thru it, just artistic..not a long piece, any other tips??

Oh ok. I understand now. At a minimum you will need the coupling collar that allows the faucet to screw onto something. You could epoxy/glue it to a board and then screw the faucet onto that piece. amzn.to/3yohEFf

I saved my santizer from when I made it the other day and put it in a spray bottle. How long will it be good?

It depends... The shelf life can be longer depending on where you keep it but I usually reuse it for about a month or two.. max. It really has to do with the pH level. It needs to be under 3.5 pH to be effective as a sanitizer

Ps.... I generally try to refill mine every time I brew.. Since it's relatively cheap, I refill the spray bottle every couple of weeks when I'm transferring or brewing. But I use it to clean out the taps and things in between.
