Thanks for your videos. I had a nest of thread in my bobbin. Your video helped me solve the problem & avoid a 90 mile trip to my closest Bernina store!!
Thank you so much. I have two 830's and have never learned this. You just saved me big time. Both are sitting idle because i DIDN'T know how to fix it. Tomorrow I will do this and get back to sewing. Yippee
Very good of you to show the action of closing and reopening the bobbin door before inserting bobbin. One thing I would suggest is to take the opportunity to sweep a soft hair artist's paint brush across the lens inside the bobbin area to remove dust. Those lens are very important. It can be helpful to remove the needle plate too at this time to remove all the clipped ends that sit above the bobbin case from the cutter. I discovered the forward and back wheel action when the needle clanked against the bobbin housing and I had to learn to raise the needle to its highest position. Closing and reopening the bobbin door prevents the needle from contacting the bobbin housing. Sometimes I turn the machine off and on again to resync the bobbin and reposition everything to normal. Lots of fun with the machine but what a pain to have to see through that acrylic window, which is too small and reflective to see down to the bobbin when the door is open.
I’m a thread painting teacher also bobbin work using the 750. . I’m currently playing with 820 and need some help with using the perle cotton hand wound on empty bobbin. Can you give me some help with setting up. Your video was wonderful and I will try loosening the tension with special tool. This is by far the best video on bobbin case holder thank you.
Chris, You can bypass the bobbin tension all together by just running the heavy thread from the bobbin down the hole in the bottom of the bobbin area and never putting it into the tension at all.
Here is a link to the video showing how to use the tool. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1iTPEg0RnlQ.html Thanks for your comment. It was not in the 8 series playlist but it is now!
