Recently acquired a Legend SE. The screen is on the left and the orifice is on the right. In addition, both caps are brass. Does this indicate a problem that should be fixed?

Good news -that's how the heating system is designed on that unit. The by-pass screen orifice and screen provide flow that balances the heating system. The screen and orifice should be inspected and cleaned weekly (depending on how hard the water is where you operate the truckmount).

I don't see these on my first gen sapphire scientific 370ss? I have one of the very first models does that make a difference?

do i need to disconnect any water hoses i tried but water just came pouring out

These are on the front of my machine, not both 1" nothing like what I'm looking at here. And not Another video or anything on the internet. I'm beside myself.
