I WATCHED I DON'T KNOW HOW MANY "PROFESSIONAL" VIDEOS AND NOBODY THERE BOTHERED TO GO IN SUCH IMPORTANT DETAILS, BECAUSE THIS WAS MY ONLY PROBLEM FOR THE DESCALING RED LIGHT NOT TO GO OFF, NO MATTER WHAT I DID ALL DAY LONG. Hi when I first cleaned it I got stuck did something wrong and had to start again. If you pushed the start button as long as the water flushes through then wait until it empties the water container. Fill it back up. Move your dial to expresso and the cleaning inductor should disappear. If it doesn't U need to start again sorry
Sorry for the delayed reply. I have never had that issue of overheating. The only other issue I have had is a blocked coffee cup and I just remove the rubber and heat the tiny holes over a flame
