For all those saying we live in a dirty house. This PS5 is run for 16+ hours a day, every day for 18 months to test how it lasts, and part of that was not cleaning it our to see if it would overheat, that's what we do on this channel, we test things. So when comparing this to your own PS5, take the hours it is used into account. I'm more than positive it would look no different no matter who's house it was in. We also have a second PS5 in the house which is exactly the same age and was used in a more normal way, and when that was taken apart to fit an SSD you can see that even with no prior cleaning and video being shot at the same time, that PS5 has hardly any dust. See for yourself ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-E962wat0Juw.html So i hope that explains things for all those who are being abusive and rude and just shows why you shouldn't jump to conclusions and running your mouth off! With regards to removing the fan and also doing the dust catcher holes. the holes were vacuumed out, but not shown in the video and the vacuum is so powerful that i managed to get the dust off the fan without removing it. This was done by covering sections of the fan opening with my hand and putting the vacuum nozzle over the part i wasn't covering, making the suction super powerful. Why did i not show this in the short video? well i wanted to concentrate on satisfaction of removing the dust that you can see, not much fun in watching dust being removed that you can see properly.
I am pretty sure mine is as dusted up even without running it that much cause we had a construction site in our area and you wouldnt belive the amount of dust flying in the air and getting throught the windows
You can take the fans out on these very easily, ive done it to mine and a friends and made them sound brand new. All you need is a Torx T8 screwdriver, a gentle hand and some patients whilst taking off the air vent fins as they can break easily. There’s a few decent videos on YT how to do it, would definitely recommend it! 👍🏻
@@tavorabrown3622 Yeah they’re the ones, sorry for my lack of a better way to explain them 🤦🏼♂️😂. They need to be removed before you can unscrew the fan
@@JC-hp6pk no I don’t disassemble my tvs and household appliances very often, every once In awhile certain thing needs cleaning of there filter systems and etc but not like that
@@JC-hp6pk dumb question if you think about it, something like a console should not have to be disassembled with a certain set of tools for a regular consumer to regulate
@@JC-hp6pk we live in 2023 overheating shouldn’t be an issue with engineering a gaming console, but what do I know? Just seems that a company worth millions of fucking dollars can fund something like this well enough to avoid this by properly testing a system before it’s launched. Or damn maybe offering there consumers a better warranty.
It's cool that the ps5 was made easier to clean, I cleaned my PS4 once and it was so hard to get all those screws out and put them in the right place again
I quit smoking cigarettes when I realized what it does to the dust in my electronics. Sticky, black, and even hard to remove with isopropyl. Even vaping causes dust to adhere. I can’t imagine what my lungs look like 🙃
My ex brother smoke alot. My sister was to give her white Toyota Avalon to her daughter. When I clean it from the inside, all the white interior is smoked to gray. I gave it many cleaning ways to get it out. The smell was awful when entering. I smell and my clothes smell of cigarette afterward.
My friends brother was a pot head and cigarette smoker. We opened up his PC because of a problem and it was covered in tar. Pretty much had to throw it in the trash because it looked unfixable. All my things are pristine because I don’t smoke or vape, I always dust and keep everything clean.
@@tr1bes curious, whose an ex brother?!🫤 first I thought it was your ex’s brother but then as your sister was giving the car so I don’t think the ex’s brother would be knowing the sister so well that she would give the car to him to smoke inside. If not then how does a brother become ex!?😶
The cooler fins for the apu look even worse, I had an issue with mine where it just wouldn’t stay on when I played heavy games like god of war because it kept overheating.
@@sovereignblastoise6767 yea it got to that point for me too, your best bet is to try and use a vacuum on the vacuum ports that they have once you take the side plates off. However, taking it completely apart isn’t hard at all, the video I use was in Japanese and it’s on Sony’s official channel. Supposedly by now you aren’t voiding any warranty if you do this. But thats just what I’ve heard.
@@Akajspoon I found out that it’s PlayStations fault and I got one of the messed up ps5s. I sent it to them for repair for free and I’ve never had the problem since
@@jooj_- Did you send it too them after the warranty window closed? Also did they repair the PS5 or just do a complete replacement of the PS5 and gave you a brand new one?
I done my sons ps4 after 9 years use,I was very shocked how dusty and dirty it was, after 1 hour cleaning it was like brand new again and very quiet. I found the instructions how to do it easy to follow and actually enjoyed doing it.his ps5 is two years old now and I’m gonna do that soon👍🏼
I don’t understand why they don’t do that as well. I was looking at making a custom one but wasn’t sure if the fiber from the filter would make things worst since I’m not sure what material to use.
DrJ...ore ore you clean your PS5 on a regular basis like a normal gamer would do. I clean my PS5 once in 6 weeks, and when i'am not using it i put a duskcover over it.
I just bought my ps5 and have been watching numerous videos about tips tricks and cleaning etc.... I think it is ABSOLUTELY awesome that Sony decided to allow people to take the covers off for cleaning without voiding anything. I'd like to shake the hand of whoever made this happen and the idea guy behind it as well.
If it's loud then you definitely should clean it lol. My 5 year old PS4 was loud and eventually overheated because it was clogged with dust inside the hestsink
same here. have had my xbox one s for 6 years now and never taken it apart for a cleaning. i blew it out with my mouth a couple times to be safe and it still works just as good as when i bought it and isn’t any louder than it was out of the box either. but in all fairness my house is clean and kept as dust free as possible
you forgot the most important thing! Sony put intentionally 2 holes on the playstation 5 where you have to put the vacuum cleaner where the dust is sucked out of the playstation 5. Watch the offical PS5 teardown from sony where they explain this
Those dust catchers dont do much. Vacuuming them out dont do as good as Sony made it seem. U GOTTA TAKE THE FAN OUT AND CLEAN THE FRONT OF THE HEATSINK OR EVERYTHING DONE IN THIS VID IS POINTLESS.
@Bloofa exactly. All the dust, animal hair, etc gets clogged at the front of the heatsink. I learned this back when i had to clean the heatsink on my ps4 pro, it started shutting off in thermal protection cuz it couldn't breathe. U could hear the air forcing its way thru the dust and heatsink, making a jet-like whistle. Cleaned it and it was quiet. Recently did my ps5 which is how i realized ps5 takes in more dust than anything I've ever seen and my room is clean WITH an air purifier in there. Still had dust starting to build up at the front of the heatsink on those slits the air passes through. Sony actually designed ps5 to be taken apart easy so thats the easy part, so is removing the fan. Hard part is reaching the heatsink to clean it lol!
I did my son's today because every time he plays Fortnite it shuts off, so I took it apart cleared the dust and it started working right, now I have to make sure he put his dust protector on every night.
I just keep care of my consoles. I don't take them apart and clean them like this. Only console that has EVER died on me was Xbox360.....3 of them thanks to the RROD 🙄 nothing else has ever broken. Not even the Super Nintendo or N64 I still use. So what were you saying about the life of a console? 😂
😮Wow, I've never seen a guy open a Play 5 by removing the lids so gently that he didn't even mark the device. Congratulations, another successful subscriber to your channel 😍👏 hugs from your eternal fan Upiiiiiiiiii Vitória Always 🌀
It’s so satisfying to see that we can access and clean the fan on both sides of the ps5 with out any hassle. I remember cleaning my PS4. Getting the case off gave me severe anxiety. the clicking noises made me think I broke the dam thing. Then It took me near enough an hour just to try and snip of the plastic bits so that I can lift the metal sheet to access the fan. 😅
How did yours get so dusty? I had mine since launch and the only time I've opened it is to upgrade my storage which was last month and it was never that dusty
Hey Paul!I just saw the act man’s latest video on Quantum TV. Really sorry you had this prick minimising you a while back. I can confirm that your channel has been my go-to one for all things about my new LG C1! Love your content! :)
Uhm no you don’t it’s a ps5 not a pc from the 90’s 😂 you don’t need to clean consoles I have had my ps4 for 10 years never opened it once to clean it lol there engineered specifically so you don’t have to clean them. If you had to clean it it would say somewhere on the manual to prevent lawsuits
@@theageofminecraft1 I’ve cleaned plenty of them and if you want them running effectively/efficiently and quietly then yeah a proper clean of the heatsinks etc is the go
@@Sayin42 no offence but you clearly Have little to no idea what your talking about. You’ve cleaned plenty of ps5’s? What are me.clean for the the whole neighbourhood. Most people couldn’t even get one till a few months ago I seriously doubt you’ve cleaned a bunch of them. 😂 bro trust me I’ve built pcs my whole life. You don’t gotta clean the heat sink of a fucking ps5 your literally voiding your warranty doing that and risking frying your motherboard. 😂 there designed to be cleaned from the outside or at most after years of use opening the cover. Like he does in the video and using a can of computer compressed air duster not a fucking vacuum 😂 2nd) the fan sits right on top of the heat sink that’s the whole point of a compressed air can they have thin nozzles that allow you to get the hard to reach areas so you don’t gotta take apart your shit. You don’t think the engineers at Sony designed it in a way that can be cleaned effectively from the outside? Most console users never ever clean there shit and they run fine for years. Try doing that with a generic cheap case PC and your pc will be overheating in a couple years for sure. Just stop spreading misinformation man your risking some dumb kids fucking up there console.

@@danielweiss4498 what if your console is dusty like this one, I wonder if those holes really work. I don't think it would get the dust out the fan, but maybe just the dust internally in the console that you can't see
Mine was like that after the first 3 months of its release (uk day1 owner) and well cleaned it last night and mine made yours look spotless I was absolutely mortified
I’ve had mine the same amount of time and I opened it up to just do general clean. My ps5 was no where near as dirty as that lol. Just a little bit of dust 😂
Not sure why consoles don’t just have a washable air filter that you can pull out like a central air filter. Just clean the filter and put it back in. No dust inside on your components or heat sink clogging anything.
Dont forget to clean the lower heat duct vents underneath the fan, leaving that uncleaned will cause overheating bc of how the air passes through to that point.
Pro tip, put your PS5 in the horizontal position. The reason is in horizontal no dust gets in. If you look at a PS5 in horizontal, you see the white panels are like a roof around the top of the PS5 so that no dust gets in. When PS5 is in vertical you see how all the open areas are open for all the dust in your room to freely drop inside the PS5. So even though it will take up more space horizontally, its worth it to have it horizontal to keep as much dust as possible from getting inside. ✌️
It may be news to you but dust is airborne so it will just get sucked in anyway. Yes, you won't have that part of the dust that falls down and into the console but that's a minority.
Dumb comment sorry but it will always collect dust if it’s on as one fan needs or be sucking air in to cool it… just basic PC knowledge. Also this was barely any dust the ps5 performance would not have been affected by that much dust.. I was suprised how little it was. My PC has had 20 times More dust and ran fine lmao
Just popped mine open for the first time since i got it on launch. I thought i lived in a pretty dusty house but mine had nothing compared to this. A lot of buildup on the fan. A few little dust bunnies near the heat sinks and in the shell, but thats it.
My ps5 lives in the living room, high traffic area, near the front door. I have 2 air purifiers in the area, and it still gets dusty. Every time my dog shakes inside, dirt and hair go flying. The ps5 does get dirty. Thankfully, I dont have carpet and have a roomba that vacuums daily. The console in my gameroom doesn't get very dirty because it's not a high traffic area and the dog and cat don't go out there.
I gave my son’s PS5 a good clean last week I even took the fan out as well as the hoovering, my son has to leave the room once I start taking it apart. Dismantled the PS4 before no fear here great video
I’ve had my ps4 slim for about 7 years now (since release) and I just took off the top cover today to see how much dust was in there and there was near to none
Did mine today after 14 months and it was awful it lives on a shelf close to my ceiling so no suprise there. Didn’t take it apart as didn’t want to void warranty I just carefully hoovered the inside and wiped it down runs much cooler now 😁
