Hey man! Would you please do another test with fiber fix? Maybe not against duct tape, but just give it the best chance you can and actually try to fix things with it?
Have you tried one of those portable furniture cleaners for pets spots. They are like small power wash things. the models I see have two Chambers, one for the cleaning liquid and one for vacuuming it up. That might do amazing on your car seats
That chemical guys interior cleaner is really good imo. For a car that dirty, I would use super clean. Also, as a car detailer, there's a few reasons why we don't use paper towels. Love you videos though, man. I always look forward to Saturdays because of your videos.
I was looking for a comment saying something about paper towels. 👍🏼 You can’t really clean a textured surface with paper towels. At least use a cloth if you don’t have a brush
Former Autozoner and lifelong car guy. Use a microfiber cloth and boar brush for getting into interior crevices and plastic grooves. Also, the Turtle Wax PowerOut works best when you spray and agitate it, as shown, but vacuum the excess
Hey Tyler, on the chemical guys I would suggest getting like a soft brushed drill head to like brush it in the textured surfaces I found it to work better like that. If you ever want to do a part 2 on this!
I bet if you gave a professional car detailer a Magic Eraser and a good overall cleaner for the inside of a car I bet they could get the inside of Tyler's car super clean
My car is used every day for taking my dog on his walks in all weathers. I thought mine was dirty but that is the filthiest car I've ever seen. I don't feel nearly so bad about mine now.
I have that vacuum. The reason you have so much dust in the bin is because dust is one of the few things this piece of shit is actually capable of picking up.
Tyler used to be a diesel mechanic in his early videos he talked about it. You get extremely dirty with that kind of job. Pretty sure this was just the work car. Inside his truck is very clean
"Let's see how clean we can get this car." *dumps dust and grime on the hood* Lol Never change man. I always look forward to the content. No gimmicks, no fake persona being put on for the camera. Its a breath of fresh air.
OMG.. I swear I didnt read your comment before posting. haha. "Buckie Smalls 0 seconds ago Vacuums/cleans car and dump it on the hood.. LOL.. Never change my man."
This video bothers me so much cuz he doesn’t even try. It says on the bottle of chemical guys to use microfiber towels…. Who uses paper towels for clean interior lol
"Oh hey are you coming out drinking tonight?" "Oh nah I'm gonna sit in bed and watch a guy from texas or something hoover a car with a frustratingly weak hoover"
Never expected to watch Tyler finger a car... Also, I use the Turtle Wax carpet and upholstery cleaner a lot for any fabrics that have stains or are just dirty in general. The foaming spray really works well, but the scrubber is absolutely terrible. It will not stay on the can at all.
I take the scrubber off and use it by hand, easier to get to tight spots. I use the turtle wax carpet and uph cleaner too, have for years and been happy with it.
I was today years old when I found out he use to be a diesel mechanic.. apparently they didn't have employee pressure washing bays. 😂 I get it.. I was a framer for a bit.. end of a 16 hr day in the scorching sun, you really could care less about keeping your car clean. You get a new one and that's your nice car that you drive when you're not gross. Lol
I feel like it'd be really interesting to see a real transformation cleaning of that car with a REAL Vacuum and lots of effort and scrubbing, and detailing. It's a great candidate
I use Chemical Guys stuff for my car almost exclusively now. I have a huge range of their products and love them. I would say the sheer horrific abuse the inside of that car has endured would require some REAL tough shit to get it clean. That interior spray is definitely NOT meant for a mess that bad. You need something heavy duty like acetone or a flame-thrower 😂
Soo, ordered Donatos Pizza about 15 minutes ago. Turn this on and I’ll be damned if the Interior of that car didn’t make me lose my appetite. Oh well, $40 leftovers lol
The air freshener spray is suppose to sit for 15 min with vents on then air it out for a few minutes after with windows open. Also unless you clean the carpet the smell will never go away. I professionally detail cars and at the end I like using that spray. Just helps top it all off. Great tests. Hope to see more!!
Any suggestions on cleaning the seat belt fabric?? I have a 07 Monte that has (if I recall) Titanium (gray) interior and you can see the black marks on the seat belt fabric and would like to clean them ... I know you're not supposed to use bleach (or possibly bleach products). Looking for suggestions.
@@stanfordblack.156 he must make bank with his RU-vid channel then because most diesel mechanic make really good money especially if they work on exclusively the big trucks and not medium duty or light duty trucks like from your average diesel powered pick up truck to dump truck sized trucks and just work on your over the road trucks that are capable of hauling 80,000lbs and can go from coast to coast which is the type of trucks my dad used to drive and I used to spend most of the time with him on the road when I wasn't in school as a kid and I've heard that diesel mechanics made like $30 and that was close to 20 years ago now so if that was true back then or even close to it and with inflation over those 20+ years I would imagine that they would make close to $50 an hour
As a diesel mechanic myself, I totally understand how this car got this way. It's also why I bought a car with a black interior, because my last car went from beige to black in months 😅
@@littledebbie5254 Yeah, I remember him mentioning it a few times. Always makes me wonder who he worked for in the off chance we may have crossed paths at some point 😅
With the chemical guys stuff. If you had something better to agitate like a drill brush it will be night and day. That's with any cleaning product. (Paper towel doesn't get into crevices)
This video is a masterpiece, chefs kiss 😂 Im dying at Tyler standing on the hood of his car in his Gang Gang flip flops with socks scrubbing the floor mat
Now THIS is a car worthy of taking to one of those car detailing places that charge around $60-$90! You'd get that thing back lookin' brand spankin' new man I'm tellin' ya, lol. That's a solid $90 investment. Haha. Enjoy your content, Tyler. Hope you've been well! :)
@@Xenten123 what?! That is absurd! It costs around CAD$100 for an exterior wash + interior wash + shampoo where I'm at, so estimated it would be around what I said in USD. What you paid is quite literally as I've said; absurdly expensive. I would've been out of there finding somewhere else willing to take the job for much cheaper.
Anything oil based needs something to break it down, fairy liquid does a good job. For console controls like electric window switches and all the hard to get at places use a tooth brush. Those dirty cracks in the arm rest can be cleared with a toothbrush. Jet wash the floor mats to save time. "Back to Black" is a good silicone spray that'll revive plastics and make the interior look nice again. Alcohol based products for window cleaning and spray a decent amount on, use a cloth to wipe the worst off and a fresh cloth for the polish.
And holy sheeeeit, I finished the video. Son, I am disappoint. What have you done to this car? I had a Corolla back in the day, just about the same model - how are the headrests that color, lol? A few tips: 1, You need a real vacuum to get all the crap out. 12V is for day to day cleaning, not 8 years. The floor mats seem to have melded into the base carpet. 2, Steam Cleaner and Brushes along with all purpose car cleaners. Paper towels perhaps for sopping up the copious amounts of mess created while cleaning, but that is not ideal in day to day use nor pretty much ever in car cleaning. Get some Micro Fiber towels. 3, You need a legit shampoo and extractor for the fabrics. This car is in bad shape overall for cleanliness. Four: What in the ever living f, bro? If this is your car, you are one dirty mf.
Whenever I clean vehicles I use that turtle wax stuff for fabric. It always blows people's minds how clean it is when I'm done. Their headlight restoration kit is also amazing
So with the cleaner from The Chemical Guys, I think the mistake you made is the direction you were wiping. You can see the grain of the material on the console and the parking brake lever, and you were wiping against the grain, which missed all of the deeper parts of the grain, if that makes any sense. All of the spots where there was still dirt was because it was lower than the parts you were able to clean.
As a detailer, glass cleaner works great as a spot cleaner, wouldn’t use it for large areas or entire car. Chemical guys also is a good product, but you could have the best product and it won’t matter if you don’t have a proper cleaning utensil for whatever job your doing. Toothbrushes, microfiber towels, magic erasers etc. paper towels are hotdog water for detailing. Love you vids!
When I seen the title.. For the first time ever I thought “There’s no way Tyler can mess up testing any product here.” Then he uses a paper towel to try and clean years of dirt/grime. Instead of something with some actual abrasive behind it. As always, the best reviews in the worst test manner. Stay yourself bro!
I’m an automotive detailer and all that black stuff on the arm rest and shift knob/e brake and door handle is your old dead oily skin 🤮 you need chemical guy nonsense invinsible cleaner as well as a microfibre cloth to get that stuff off lol paper towel ain’t going to do a whole lot
Tyler is the only man I've seen on RU-vid who can post a video of him cleaning a car and me and many of yall actually watched the whole video! I could be cleaning my own car but no I'd rather watch him clean one lol
The chemical guys cleaner works alot better when you use it with the right products. A paper towel isn't exactly the best side thing id use. Maybe more of a microfiber towel. But a Magic eraser works great on plastic and leather style car pieces like that. Especially good for steering wheels lol.
You need to get the cleaner from the dollar store it’s in a yellow bottle it is the best stuff ever it will clean anything. You need to get some and try it. It’s called (totally awesome).
i don't think paper towels will cut it when using that first spray on your car, the dirt and grime is too set in to just be able to wipe it off, you need something more abrasive to scrub, like those kitchen sponges that are yellow and have the green scrubbing part, that'd probably work well with that cleaning spray
I really like this video I would love to see more cleaning products and different wax products Them gator 🐊 napkins work good in my opinion turtle wax products are really good.
Tyler is like the side character in a lot of japanese mangas. At first glance he seems a little annoying and idiotic but you come to realize that he's actually a genius with a solution for everything
You missed a chance to see if the magic eraser would take that stuff off of the door jam area, also you should have hosed off the floor mat before and after.
Id love for you to try a magic eraser on this aswell, especially on that part by the side of the chair that wouldn’t budge. I think it would be interesting. There’s also a product called ‘the pink stuff’ and I wonder how well that would do. I had a print stain on a brand new side table and I tried so many things to get it off, and my mum gave me her pink stuff to try (it’s like a paste) and it took it off in seconds- I was gobsmacked!!
OK Tyler, we can all see now you never clear that car. Some of those really dark stains you would have a lot better results using a scrubbing pad/brush and you can get those to work with a drill also, just spraying chemicals on that and expecting Jesus to show up isn't going to happen lol.
As a professional detailer, the chemical guys interior cleaner you used is more for a maintenance type of cleaning. It is not an aggressive cleaner by any means.
As a mechanic my self, I love seeing all the tools these companies make for cheep to try to compete with the higher level companies. I do mainly diesels and heavier equipment so the cheeper tools really stand out😂
