Hi, Evan! I watched an older video yesterday from five or six years ago where you gave a tour of your property and showed where the buildings, pastures, and gardens were planned to be. I am going back and watch all your older videos. My curiosity is killing me. I can binge on Country View Acres this winter!!!!!

Evan , you create more work for yourself than needed ! Get some used bailing wire and double up on it and wire the stock pannels to the gate. If done right it will last 100 years . You could weld all you want and the first time a 1000 lbs animal hits it the wrong way your gonna be welding it again repairing it ! Plus if your going to spray paint it after , its not gonna look any different wired or welded !

Hello Evan! I've got a suggestion; Forget the bins and make a compost pile direct on the soil where you can get at it from all directions with your big tractor and grapple. You will be amazed at the quality of the compost you get if you can get in there with your tractor several times a year and toss the pile. With the new animals, you've no doubt outgrown the bins. 👍 What's the condition of your manure spreader? That would be a good project to work on over the winter (good content). Your manure spreader is an important piece of equipment now that you have the additional pasture and the increasing manure production.

JudithB That bread is gorgeous!!!! I spent lots of time washing pots n bowls as the next generations take over the tradition. I have been doing it for 57yrs. I put a strand of barbwire at butt high on my chainlink gates to keep the horses and cows from scratching on them. I did put a post in a convenient place with metal bottle caps screwed on for a scratching post, also attached the bug thing to it over to the fence so the cows could walk under it. Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

I love your journey and evolution of your peoperty. One suggestion. the gate you are placing the stock panel on, could be used to make your bigger opening by the barn,. at fleet farm up im wisconsin, they make a a variety of gates, with the stock panel already welded to the gate so smaller animals cant get out. They have them painted in green, brown and red. They have different widths, up to 20 ft wide.

Alton Brown hack for brining turkey. Use a 5 gallon insulated water cooler and replace some of the water for brine with ice cubes usually a 10lb bag will suffice. Use a gallon zip lock bag filled with water on top of bird to hold it down. No need now to use up precious refrigerator space.

Hi Evan,I wouldn't compromise the gate by removing coating/galvanising etc by welding, just buy some stainless steel pipe clamps and secure the meshing top, middle and bottom. Quick fix, no messing, strong and removable if ever needed. Just a thought.

We brined our turkey this year for over 24 hours using the kinders brine and seasoning which is buttery poultry blend. We also did one for a friend of ours and when they were done brining I put them in my pit boss pellet smoker. Let me tell ya I smoked a turkey last year and it was awesome but this year was 10 times better and juicy as can be. The one we smoked for a friend she said that everyone said it was the best turkey they had ever tasted. So brining and smoking it the way to go for me from now on and I don't care much for turkey.😊

Rebekah needs to do a cooking segment. With the gated entry to the barn lot, if you don't wish to purchase a larger gate, replace the post with a PVC pipe with the top at ground level and a gravel base down the bottom of the hole. This will allow you to have a removable post where the two gates overlap. Happy Thanksgiving and safe travels.

Hi Ivan, I used to work as a fencing contract , whenever we used additional peace of panel like you’re doing you should never use it where the opening is, because you draw that your eye to that every time you open the gate. If you put the spare bed up the other end, you won’t notice it as much and if anyone is walking through the gate is a visitor they will not understanding what’s happening anyway just of food for thought, I know sometimes people don’t want to have device like this. Keep up the good work. Love your Videos , Cliff from Logan City, Queensland, Australia 🇦🇺🧑🏾‍🦽

Good job there is a mobile welder living so close, with generator and stick welder. I would cut out some strips of 1/8th metal, bend them in half and use them as clips for hooking around the panel wire, but only weld the clips to the gate frame (not trying to weld the thin wire of the fencing panel, to avoid cutting through wire during welding).
