Ive heard the letter was to indicate its location in the heat treating oven. Ive been told that personally by someone who i believe would know, and I've seen it claimed independently over the years but i have zero confirmation that its actually true. Edit: ive also heard it was the week of the indicated month. Neither would surprise me.

Ahh, that would make sense as well I suppose, but I wouldn't recognize heat treating oven location either way lol.

@@TriedandTrueEDC you got the right brand but wrong knife. I do need a 24 though. Got a full ti wharnie half track and a full ti mp-1.

@@andrew5117 🙌🏼oh yeah! I’ve always had an eye on the MP-1, but have yet to find one that has compelled me to pull the trigger 😅.

The stop pin on mine stuck out further on the show side than the clip side. Also wasn’t content with the handle being so smooth & flat. It was cool but for $260, I wasn’t happy. Returned it. Maybe it’s just me being cheap but I’m sticking with my shaman

Oh dang, that’s lame about the stop pin. Might need to check mine now, hadn’t noticed that. The Shaman is a staple model for me, but I’ll need to really use the Bodacious to see how well it performs over time. Appreciate you dropping a line!

Try shaman scales on it! That's what i want to see!
@tgonzalez1983
@tgonzalez1983 2 месяца назад
Doubt it will work. The blade goes all the way to the scales on this. Where as the shaman has a finger choil. Hopefully OG or someone makes aftermarket scales for it. Not a fan of the smooth flat handles. The shaman is better in my opinion

I'll need to test it out and perhaps do a vid on it lol

@@tgonzalez1983 I had the same exact thoughts -- may not be safe to swap Shaman scales on the Bodacious, least not use/carry it afterwards.

Not sure if you mentioned it but does the bodacious have a pivot bushing? Cool to see the insides, I’ve been curious about this model.
@TriedandTrueEDC
@TriedandTrueEDC 2 месяца назад
It doesn't have a bushing, if I'm understanding this correctly (I had to Google it to make sure lol) -- the PB washers contact the blade and liners directly as the only contact points. Hope that helps, let me know if I got that wrong lol.

@@TriedandTrueEDC never taken my Shaman apart and haven’t handled a Bodacious but what i meant was is it set up like a PM2 if that is considered a pivot bushing. I like that setup Spyderco does.
@TriedandTrueEDC
@TriedandTrueEDC 2 месяца назад
@@jkstdstang Ah, yes, the Bodacious is nearly identical in terms of its pivot system to the Shaman and PM2 (as well as Para 3 in that respect) -- I understood the "bushing" as an additional touch point between the washer and either the liner or blade tang. I agree with you, it's a very simple setup that works well. if anything, it's removing the scales from the lanyard tube on PM2's that becomes my pain point LOL
@jkstdstang
@jkstdstang 2 месяца назад
@@TriedandTrueEDC ill take that system over bearings. It works very well! Thanks!
@TriedandTrueEDC
@TriedandTrueEDC 2 месяца назад
@@jkstdstang Agreed! Bearings are nice in terms of action, but I've learned to appreciate PB washers a lot more from Spydercos, CRKs, and Spartan SHF's!
