Just curious have you tried the Stealth Recoil System SRS-9 recoil spring? Its 20% off right now on their website.

@@dave_bobThe Armaspec? The 9mm version says it's only 6.4oz. equivalent (total weight of 9.5 includes not-reciprocating parts). Too light for most modern bolts to hit a 22oz. total weight goal. It may function in a 9mm but I wouldn't use it.

@@Blowback9 Yes that's the one, they claim actual weight is 9.5 oz, still might be a little light with the weight taken out of the bolt for function. I may try it out and see. I'm also going to try the tungsten pinewood derby weights for a carbine length GRS. I'm retired and have a machine shop .

@@dave_bob Must be nice to have a machine shop at your disposal! Just to be clear; the 9.5oz is not the weight to use in the reciprocating mass calculation (bolt+buffer mass). We need to use the equivalent mass - 6.4oz., then add the weight of the bolt with the bolt mass removed - usually 12oz. That's only 18.4oz. Very light! The mass of the guide rod parts and spring on the unit don't count, since that mass isn't adding to the bolt's inertia resistance to opening the breach.

@@dave_bob "Actual" weight is how much weight it adds to the gun. "Equivalent" weight is how much weight it adds to the bolt. "Equivalent" to using a 6.4oz. buffer. However, it's necessary to remove the 2.5oz.-ish bolt weight to use it. So it may really only act like a 3.9oz. buffer. That's not a little light, that's extremely light. This may explain it better: blowback9.wordpress.com/2021/10/27/captured-spring-systems-a-bad-idea-for-pcc/

Great video and great point about gloves! I'm not concerned about the cleaners as much as I am about the lead in firing residue, trying to keep those heavy metal levels as low as possible.

Changing to the Maxim RDB solved my dirt issues. My AR9 hardly gets dirty, zero unburnt powder leftover. In fact its cleaner than my 5.56 ARs

Nice! It's very hard to charge compared to a regular buffer, but it definitely has benefits.

@Blowback9 with my gun being a side charger its not that noticeable. I can see how on a rear charger it would be hard.

Awesome tips Doug!!! May I ask what did you use for removing the buffer spring? The tool looks easy to use and remove the spring.

It’s the tool from KAK Industries. You can download the STL and print it yourself.

AIM Surplus SSTAT. I always add anti-walk pins even though they say it's not required.

@@Blowback9 I tried the CMC PCC trigger and it had a gritty and slow reset. I've sent it in to get fixed. If not I'll try that one.

Firearms need to be cleaned. You need to have a schedule that works for you and your weapons. My range toys are not going to be pristine, however they are going to work when the trigger is pulled.

KAK charging $10 shipping for that tiny, weightless 5¢ piece of plastic though

Don't know if it helps, but they provide a free downloadable file to print it yourself if you have access to a 3D printer.
