From a guy who has been in Japan almost a decade now it was nice to listen to someone with my accent explain things for me, lol. Didn't catch it in this video but the IBTS should be cleaned with some alcohol before putting the faceplate back on!

Ha! I’m glad I could offer you something of value. I mostly used cafiza on a paper towel for the IBTS. I was afraid that if there was a coating on the IBTS that alcohol might degrade it as it can do with other coatings on glass elements, but it sounds like you’ve had no issues with that.

@davidsargentcoffee I literally just deep cleaned mine, watching your video along the way. Super helpful. One of the Aillio groups I'm in on Facebook recommends alcohol for the lens so I rolled with that, and everyone uses it so .. Hopefully it works lol. Cheers mate thanks for the walkthrough!

For the black stuff in the metal plate. Might try a Clorox wipe, surprisingly, those work really well and you can use the wipe to help scrub.

A have a fixture for supporting the front panel to keep the stress off the cable during cleaning. I includes a place to hold the front panel screws during cleaning.

Great video so far and very thorough! What I did for the little rubber bean chute cover, because I kept knocking it off as well, is I drilled a little hole through the "fin" and tied a piece of string through it and then tied the other end to a leg of the roaster. It has save me countless time trying to find it when I have knocked it off since then.

Although the manual doesn't state this, Aillio has a video about cleaning the impeller and it says not to leave the impeller in the cafiza solution for longer then 2 minutes or it might damage the aluminum that the impeller is made of. Just be aware if you see something happening to your impeller, that might be it. I actually did find this some time ago. Since then, my cleaning methods have changed to clean more frequently so that cafiza isn’t necessary. Now I just remove it after every other roast and scrub down with water as things have changed dramatically with how I use the bullet.

great video thank you. I have the same issue with the chaffs collecting underneath the drum. Haven't figured out yet how to get them out properly though

Thanks for saying something - it's curious how so much can collect there. The best I do is take my vacuum with a narrow nozzle and pull out as much as I can. With the front face of the roaster off you can lift the drum a few millimeters up to help with that.

Omg! When I screw back the faceplate in, the bearing of the drum doesn’t fit in the hole, so I have to lift the drum up a little to align with the hole and at the same time the screws to screw holes. In the video, you don’t need to put your hands in to tilt up the drum but mine need to. By doing I got scratches everywhere around the screw holes when aligning back in.

Sometimes I can get away with not lifting the drum, but actually most times I would say I do also have to tilt the drum up just a little and that's something I've noticed more. I don't necessarily do that with my hand inside, but I'll align the center with the bearing and then lift the drum with the faceplate itself to get the top screw holes to line up and then screw those in first to set it. I've come to know that as a minor annoyance but I'm glad you brought it up.
