Dumb question but how do you empty out the water from your patio/balcony?

I like the idea. After one dog that killed the grass wherever she did her business and having to find the mines she left in the grass, training a dog to go in one place makes the cleanup much easier. I've seen "industrial" versions of this with motorised fake grass, brushes and water jets, but I think you can get pretty close with a hose when needed! The only thing I'm not sure about is the cross members. The frame should be made out of outdoor rated treated timber, and the plastic pond sheet is easy enough to replace but those cross members will rot in a heartbeat when exposed to urine. Maybe replace with aluminium rods and replace the grille with something either stainless or epoxy coated?

Nah that has got to stink after a while. A pad is much better and never stinks cus you just throw it out .
