You are not alone. It’s a constant battle to keep things organized specially when depression is the biggest stumbling block. Thank you for the video. I appreciate you.
Turns out it’s likely I have a touch of the ADHDs so my studio just becomes one giant doom-pile thrown to the side while I hyper fixate on whatever my current project is 😮💨 big hugs on the depression train, thanks for watching 💜💜
I wish I had a studio to mess up. I've just got bits in various places of the house. I love seeing other artists studios, no matter what state they are in. Thanks for sharing 😀
Yes! I had the same in my old house. I was so excited to get an actual studio space....my stuff still somehow manages to creep out all over the house anyway 🙈
@@Katartillustrations Haha. I think I'd be the same to be honest. Just can't resist buying art materials but then I've got to figure out where to put them.
I feel so much better, just knowing I'm not alone, my studio looks just like this. Nowhere to walk. And my dogs want to be right in there with me too :-) (I can't say no) - It was so fun and inspiring to see you organizing! thanks
Girl, depression mess is so real, especially in times like these. A little mess and then more, and more, becoming disheartened and ashamed and just... uhg. Good on you for overcoming that and getting through it. Hope you are doing well now
For me it’s actually that I have multiple autoimmune conditions and so a lot of days I’m barely well enough to get the basic things done in a day that healthy people do without thinking. But some days I get a bit of a reprieve from the symptoms and can get more done! A lot of people have depression ontop of these illnesses and I can’t even imagine what it’s like to try and function with both holding you down! Thankyou for the support though!! I hope others feel understood and supported from you comment too wether it be depression or their body just physically too unwell 💜💜💜
I've just started doing a huge overhaul and declutter of my studio and right now it is in a gigantic mess, lol! Yours turned out really well and the end result looks so satisfying. I also live out in the Eastern 'burbs of Melbourne. 💜
Your hair is still cool as the colour grows out. Your art space isn't near as chaotic as those I use, but, as I begin with the, I find this greatly encouraging.
Thank you, thank you for showing the before video. My studio is probably 50% larger than yours and has 4 times the mess. I'm actually in the process of rearranging, organizing, and purging right now. This gives me hope that I can finish, eventually. TFS
I feel this with my bedroom! I don’t have a separate room for just a craft/art room or a doll room so everything is split between my bedroom and our storage/guest room (fka my brother’s room). My room is on the small side (doesn’t even have a closet) and we have the kind of radiators that go across two whole walls so I lose several inches of space from that. I do most of my arts and crafts in my room. My doll collection is mostly American Girl. As a result, my room often gets messy and looks like a tornado went through it. I tend to get overwhelmed with how much I feel like I have (it might not seem as bad if I did have an entire room to use as either an art/craft room or a doll room). I feel overwhelmed when cleaning as well because of not knowing where to start, how long it takes, and whenever I get one spot cleaned up, another ends up more messy. Maybe someday I’ll be able to have a home with a separate art/craft room and/or doll room (both would be ideal). At the moment, I would like to get a garage shelving unit to be able to set up a few more rooms for my dolls again and better display holiday decor I have for my dolls. And I want to look into a new desk because the one I have is missing some of the metal support pieces due to needing to fit other stuff in certain parts under it. Thus it’s more wobbly than it should be.
Seeing the before and after was so satisfying! 😍 I empathise So Much with the half assed print storage, mine are just in a drawer 😂 looking forward to one day having a studio to clean, until then my mess just spreads across my bedroom. Great video!!
So after months of watching decluttering videos -- I finally thought --- search art studio clean up! Yes 🤣😉 we are all the same!!! I love this 🩵💜🧡💙❤️ if you can ... I can!!! 😃 I can't wait for the "after" 😊
I've just moved house and watching this i feel better about it 😅 ive subscribed though I really loved watching this and had a quick look at your other videos and they look awesome!
This video is so inspiring! I have hope that I can conquer my maker space (mines in our basement and even more messy than yours was, lol). Thanks for sharing 👍
My problem is vertical space. I have a sewing table and a cutting table, but nowhere to store things I need daily like bolts of fabric, thread, tape measures and the endless other things you need to make clothing. I spend half my make days moving things from one place to the other so I can use the surfaces for their purpose!
Yes! They’re my prints. It started as a system for conventions, particularly when I had friends helping at my artist table who didn’t know what some of the artworks were (eg is someone asked for the Fullmetal Alchemist one most wouldnt know haha but they could look at the display and find it on the sticker) or didn’t know my completely nonessential ordering system 😅 but it coincidentally made it easier when I pack orders in my studio now too! I just bought some ‘label paper’ from Officeworks and print them on there. Stick new ones over the old ones when a print is retired or moved to a different folder etc. Often I will try to wait until I have quite a few prints to add so I don’t waste any of the sticker/label paper. Hope that helps!
This is the one I bought: www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/pps-shipping-labels-1-up-a4-100-pack-pps78167 I think you can also buy just adhesive paper that’s probably cheeper, I didn’t know that hen I started (and I’m still going on this one pack about 10yrs later haha)
Before watching your video Me thinking : my room is the worst room ever. I shall get an award for the worst room ever. After watching your video Me thinking : A competitior has arrive 😂🤣😂
Looks like my craft room. Except mine is worse. 8 rolling carts of ribbon and hairbow making supplies, a serger, an embroidery machine, a Cricut machine and supplies , watercolors, acrylic paints, crafting paints and things to paint, my printer, my gift wrap, fabric, knitting supplies, crochet supplies, thread, etc.
The one with the little tubes is from my local art shop, an old display they were no longer using and we’re going to throw out. I think it used to have pens in it? It’s definitely worth asking if your local has anything they don’t want anymore! The bigger ones are from Daiso (on the bag they were in) 😊
I am really not good at keeping my studio tidy either so it was good to see your studio in a mess like mine. You have given me inspiration to get down and do some form of clearing my mess. By the way could you please tell me what breed your dogs are. I am Just wondering if they are a Valhund. 🥰🥰🥰xx
Mines starting to get messy again 🙈🙈 I need to get back on it before it gets this messy again!! Good luck with the cleaning! Yes!! They are Vallhunds!! Not many people know about them!
Haha I just moved out like 2 weeks ago and somehow the carpet survived with only one stain from the dog throwing up?! My new studio is waterproof laminate floorboards, i won’t know what to do with myself 😆
phew some one that is even close to my level of art supply hoarding. Plus I have a doll and toy hobby and am a seamstress and oh not to forget my two vintage trailers that i like to change the themes for and make new ones.....now take this room and multiply it by 10 or maybe even 25! halp!
I need a good helper to keep my art place clean one that don't think my cluster clutter treasures are throw away. Anyone out there that live in Hillsboro Oregon, give me a shout out I need you!
I used to teach Copic workshops (pre-pandemic when we were allowed to 🙈) and I would bring my set for people to use. The stripe of nail polish helped distinguish mine from everyone else’s just incase they got mixed up 😊
I SEE THE DIFRENCE IS YOU HVE A SPOT ALREADY FOR ALL YOUR THINGS I DONT HAVE THAT I NEVER GOT EVOUGH MONEY TO GET CONTAINERS IM SO SAD AND I HAVE TO MOVE AND I NEED HELP TO ORGANIZE IT ALL IM SO SAD
