Thank you, that was very helpful, I have my mums 830 that she brought in 1972. Alas she is not with us anymore but her memory lives on with her 830

I just inherited an 830 Record. I now know how to oil it, but, the handwheel is very hard to turn. When I loosen the small knob, it is fine. When I tighten it up and push the peddle it revs but won't turn to sew. Please help.

I have just purchased a Bernina record 831. It is in pristine condition. The service bill even came with the machine. I have been trying to wind a bobbin and just cannot seem to turn the small handwheel toward me. The large handwheel seems alright. Do you have any suggestions to solve this dilemma? I would greatly appreciate your help. I am loving your videos. The machine is awesome!

I had a machine once where I just had to let the needle go up and down along with the bobbin winder. Just make sure the needle is not threaded. You really don't want to force it.
