Clear BIOS password on Toshiba Satellite A215-S4807 

If it's not working, do it without the power cord plugged in, just the battery. You have to hold the jumper for more than 20 seconds closer to a minute. Tried multiple times til i did it this way and it worked!

This also worked for the Satellite A215-S4757. Same exact jumper and all. I had just updated the BIOS and on the first reboot was prompted for the non-existing password. Thank you for the video how-to.

Worked for me on my A215-S4697. It randomly got a password after updating the BIOS. I jumped it with a paper clip and it reset fine, took me two tries though. Thank you!

Toshiba L300-23L bios password reset works using this. Before bios upgrade, no bios password, after the upgrade I suddenly had a bios password forwhich there was no password. RAGE! Read about the XXX jumper & B10 jumper method. Every webpage said either of those options should work but there was no XXX/B10 jumper beneath the sticker under the memory. This is the ONLY video/webpage reference to the T/U jumper option. As described, 20seconds using a wire to jump the memory ground to the U and voila, laptop booted! Thank you VERY much Sir!

Thanks. I needed to try at least five times almost gave up hope. Finally tried the other ground on the other side of the memory rack and held it for at LEAST one minute. Not sure whether it was the different ground or removing power cord or longer short time but it finally worked. I was afraid I had bricked this old but usable laptop.

Thanks for the detail info. After shorting the jumper you mentioned and it didn't work I jumped the two circuit board traces and that did work. This is a very old laptop but it was donated to me and I wanted to fix it up for some folks in our community that don't have much money to use. Thanks again!

Thanks for that...a real life saver for this A215-S4747 that my son uses. Used a piece of network cable, just like advised. The U/T part is the part to look for - the wire is kinda held there by the slight indention. I also disconnected ac pwr and removed battery first too.

Thank you!!! Just flashed the BIOS on my Toshiba Satellite A21-S4747 and started to get the "Password" bug.

Everyone Read! - At first i couldn't get this to work. I've done many of these but this one failed (3 times) I tried it for a fourth time while holding all this together - i plugged the power in and turned the laptop on. This worked, but now how you would think. It actually created a bios password. and i was locked out for about 30 minutes until i tried this next trick. I left the top stick of ram in, carefully (Hard) connected the wire to the jumper to the ground and plugged it in and turned it on. and this removed the password that it actually created. Phewwwww. Done!!!!

It worked it actually worked on Satellite A215-S4697 6-19-22 U part of circuit to ram ground to reset bios ( HDD or HDDR PASSWORD)

Why did you use a wire on the jumper instead of just switching it to a "clear" position to clear the password?
