Clear TV HD Black Box Antenna Setup + Review 

Purchased today from Rite-Aide. At the moment working just fine for me. Today the sky was clear. Tried it first without the power for the amp, scan found '0' channels. Plugged in it's power, scan found about 16 or so channels. Works like a champ. Tidewater Virginia area. I think the broadcast towers are clustered over near the west end of the James River Bridge. Live near the coast of the bay. Yard has 20 or so pine trees. House is 2 story with aluminum siding. TV and the antenna are in the den along a wall that shares with the kitchen. I presume with inclement weather, the reception will not be as good, if at all.

I got my Clear Tv Antenna from my local Walgreens store. I'm very satisfied with all my channels. the reception is very clear like looking at cable Tv.

With ANY broadcast radio or TV service reception is VERY dependent on the distance to the transmitting antenna, transmitting power (which is sometimes stronger in some directions than others), receiving antenna orientation AND whats between the transmitting and receiving antennas (hills, other buildings, vehicles, trees, siding and even things like furniture appliances and human occupants). Often altitude like being mounted on a mast or being on a higher floor helps (higher is usually better). ANY indoor antenna is at a disadvantage compared to an outdoor antenna, but circumstances like living in an apartment may make an outdoor antenna unfeasible, especially if you're on a lower floor or on the side of the building facing away from the transmitting antenna.

I found the best indoor antenna is the Mohu Leaf antenna. I know you were reviewing the clear channel antenna but, as your video showed, it's not a very good antenna. I get about 65 channels.

I have used the square Clear TV antenna for 2 years. I bought the amplifier which helped getting more channels. I loved it, but I do not get ABC, WPIX, ch, 11 or PBS, channel 13. I live in Queens, NYc. I put the square clear tv antenna in the window of my apartment. I added Light TV 2 weeks ago in a new scan. It worked fine. The connector in the back of my TV became loose. I had to wrap one end in wire to get channels. It finally died. I have given up and bought a new TV today. I tried to scan the new TV. It didn't work. I think I need to get a new clear TV antenna. I will get one tomorrow. I will let you know.

I have tried all these products too, I think the only ones that really work well are the outdoor antennas or sometimes the attic mounted ones. I think the kind you are using only work well if you are in the city where the broadcast antennas are. The closest antenna from me is 25 miles away, and even the ones that say they are 50 mile indoor antennas don't work for me.

I Have The Flat Panel Version And It Works. I Got A Whopping 109 Channels! I Am Not Making This Up! I Live Very Close To My Broadcast Towers.

I'm trying to get over 12 channels on my two extra antennas.Sometimes get less.Tried about everything so far.

SO frustrating. I tried it once too, but it would only work on a small TV not connected to cable. Did you try to use your TV remote and not the Dish remote, last resort try. Thanks for trying. We have DirecTV and they won't let you hook up any antennae to their pricey setup.

I think I have purchased it one time every antenna that Clear TV comes out with I never get more than 3 channels I could do better with a wire like you showed on one of your other videos then what I can offer those clear antenna TV sue them for false advertisement then they'll quit advertising falsely

You have to go up or down on your channel you cannot push channel 2 go to your menu and put it back on antenna then it will work

Nothing works in pa for antenna tv. We are up a mountain in Mt Pocono and we get like 4 channels over the air. Looking for the sweet spot and it could be anywhere

I use a old cable wire with one end cut off trimmed to the copper wire as long as it touches metal it works cost me nothing

I not trying to be a know it all. But did you have your TV set to Antenna or Cable ? I know when I use to have Dish I had to set my TV to Video or Mode ect. Also Did you go turn your Dish back on as you were getting over the air channels through your DVR tuner ? I don't know but thought I would ask ?

I have had my basic ClearTV HDTV antenna for about a month. I live in a big city and am about 15 miles from the station towers. I have no problem with this product for the cost. I believe I paid $15 for it at K-Mart. Sure it gets blocky or locks up in bad weather. But the channels come in with amazing HD quality on the good days. And the major local channels almost always come in even in bad weather. I get around 48 channels. And to test saying I get channel 12 but only input 12, you will not find digital channel 12.1 at all. That was a bad test. You kept showing no signal strength. Well you will not get channels to come up with remote channel up and down. You have to input 12.1 or 12.2 and see if there is enough signal to pull it in. Yes your outside antenna will net you more channels and with greater stability. Sorry none of these worked for you. I like mine and better yet love dumping cable. I look forward to trying this X-72 model with their amplifier to see more channels with more reliable signal.Thank you for trying though. Rick if you are not getting WFMZ witch is less the 15 air miles South West of you with that box it is junk. Get your self a roof mounted tripod and pole and move your Amplified HD antenna. Buy a good splitter like a Blonder Tongue 5 port and feed it to your TV sets. There is no cheap easy way around TV reception. I see you are getting Philly Tv also with your outdoor antenna. If you add a 2nd Amplified HD antenna and point it at New York you are only 60 mils from you will most likely get that also. If you like I could tell you what you need and how to hook it up the past are not much money.

none of these work. since everything went digital by law there are very few over-the-air channels. I purchased a couple of these types of things to save money because I am a dish fangirl and cannot have it where I live so I am stuck to cable. None of them worked.

Hey Rick that clear channel is pure junk ,But what I would like too know did you have some one install your antenna on top of your house ?

I'm not sure I understand what's going on in the antenna manufacturing industry, because I've used them for years, but all of these, newer, popular antnennae that show up on google searches and recommended by stores such as Amazon, including the laser-gun-looking one shown here that is recommended by this uploader are JUNK. While it is true that the laser-gun has "okay" performance and the Clear TV model is no better than a paper clip, even the outdoor model is very shoddily built and there are choices out there that ten-times better; the built-in preamp creates a lot of noise as compared to separate pre amps that can be ordered in conjunction with traditional antennas, the rotor and preamp has been shown to last no more than a year or two if you're luck; the antenna itself is too small to create very much gain; it does not perform near to the level it is advertised to (anything over 70-80 miles for reliable reception of tv-spectrum radio signals is impossible); and the antenna itself is not built to hold up for 30 years like traditional yagi or bow-tie antenna. And as for indoor antennae, there are some really good ones out there (none of them though are designed to work in fringe areas like an outdoor antenna), but those good indoor antenna are $70-$100 bucks. Look at a couple Mohu models and Clear Stream 2 Max if you really want all your available channels and you want them reliably. Check out "antenna man" on Yotube to understand all the misleading information about antenna and to choose a good antenna, and do not buy one until you learn how tv antenna technology works. The antenna itself, for instance, has nothing to do with the quality in so far as whether it will pickup up HD signals. Currently, there are no 4K signals being broadcast, and no antenna that will pickup tv in a mobile environment; that all has to do with the digital fromat that is transmitted; not the antenna; but when the new digital standard does come out to allow for 4K and mobile viewing (called NextGen TV), the antenna's role will still only beto pickup frequencies that are broadcasted; not whether or not you get 4K or HD; or mobile viewing; never has; never will!

Don't waste your time and money for any type of antennas beside cable, and Dish. Of course you can get too many channels on air at the time you scan the channels but you will lose the channels few hours later and next day can't find all channels you scanned it todat, because the frequency and location of satellites in the orbit constantly are changing. I already wasted too much money for many type of antennas and never you can't rely on all changes you scanned toda
