Man I am jealous of your property. That creek view is real nice.

Just trying to figure out a way to make sure nobody falls down it. It’s probably a good 100 foot drop. That ravine was cut out by glaciers

find some old dead trees and line the edge. or maybe a fence from some smaller stuff?

@@HometownAcres a friend of mine has a similar setup on his property. He did a split rail fence which looks pretty nice. Once it weathers it will blend in with the trees.

My place has a very similar terrain feature around 75% of it. The views are fantastic with sounds of water way down below. However, falling at any of these places spells either a bad day or the end of your days. The property is gentle until you reach its borders. We don't have any kids so we've not considered fencing the area. However if family ever camps with us then it might be a good idea. We are working on clearing a similar spot minus the help of a tractor. My back hurts though.

Great little side project before it gets too hot. I’m glad to hear mother and son are doing great. Between watching you and Mike Morgan on his channel using grapples on your tractors I don’t know why anyone would ever go without. They’re so multi functional and a definite time/back saver !! Looking forward to your next video and stay safe.

Yeah we wanted to get that done and be able to camp atleast once without having to cover ourselves in bug spray. Bugs aren’t too bad yet but I can tell it’s gonna be a bad year for bugs with such a mild winter
@williamwilson6887
@williamwilson6887 4 года назад
Hometown Acres - I agree, there’s nothing that can ruin an enjoyable camping trip more than bugs. Do you have black flies and deer flies in your area ? I didn’t mention mosquitoes as those things are everywhere !!!
@HometownAcres
@HometownAcres 4 года назад
We have deer flies but not black flies. And yes mosquitos and ticks
@williamwilson6887
@williamwilson6887 4 года назад
Hometown Acres My previous house was on 2 acres in the middle of the woods and deer flies were a huge nuisance. My second year there, in the spring once it warmed, I went to the dollar store and bought a bunch of the sticky fly strips and put them in the trees around my perimeter for about 2 weeks and swapping them out when needed. It was a bit unsightly but for the most part they wiped out the deer flies so that the outdoors could be enjoyable.

Good job Adam, you’re gonna enjoy your camping area. Might set up a couple barrels of water as a just incase. Them older forests with lost of leaves and needles will smolder after you put the fire out unless you drown it really good around the fire pit too. Sure would hate to see your forest gone. Be safe and enjoy your family! Fred.

Good work Adam, camping on your own property is great, we have done it ever since we bought ours back in 1999. We are to old for sleeping on the ground now, so I built a gypsy wagon near one of our creeks , now it feels like camping with all the comforts of home, kitchen, bathroom, composting toilet, it even powered by our own hydro electric generator.
@HometownAcres
@HometownAcres 4 года назад

Sweet camping spot dude! Have the ability to camp as a stay-cation at home is the best...just make sure when you go for the late night bathroom break ya walk the opposite direction of that drop off to the creek...lol. Your videos keep me thinking more and more about a grapple attachment!! hahahaha 👍🍻😀

You need a different style root rake for a compact tractor to be able to root rake. Those tines are way too big. Check out the BRG by Armstrong or the Wicked Grapple. Much thinner tines and a different configuration so that you can get in the ground 4-6 inches.

If your kioti is like my 35 hp hydro se , it won't spin the tires under a load . I can set my 5ft box blade rippers all the way down and the blade just touching the ground and hit hard ground mine will stop pulling . I wish I would have gone with shuttle shift for more power to the ground pulling.
@HometownAcres
@HometownAcres 4 года назад
If I’m in low gear I can usually spin the tires if I have some good resistance. I am rarely on solid enough ground that the tires stick and the engine bogs down. I would be real interested to drive a shuttle just to see what the actual difference is. I’ve only ever operated hydro
@leroywilson6681
@leroywilson6681 4 года назад
@@HometownAcres I need to have a dealer to check mine out then it will only bog the engine a little in low gear and stops just like a clutch is slipping but it doesn't have a clutch.
@meehd01
@meehd01 4 года назад
@@leroywilson6681 yeah I would get it checked out. I had a little 30hp hst and it would spin the tires all day long if I had the 2 bottom plow buried. I recently bought a new 5310 se hst 50hp) and I REALLY love it.
