Just wanted to let you know how much we enjoy your videos. We're up in New England and just bought a KX-040 at lest partially based on the capabilities of the machine showcased on your videos. We' have a small farm on about 60 acres here and look forward to working with it next spring. thank you again for your content.
Do you wish you had the 6 way blade they are putting on these now.? Gonna be buying a mini excavator to land prep a wooded homestead. Doing similar things with it to what you are doing. Not set on any brand but lot of people are pitching me this model because of the 6 way blade you can get. Great videos. Zen for guys like us who like equipment.
I do have the 6 way blade. For the work I do, it is a huge plus. My first machines had straight blades, and the 6 way is a huge plus. Thank you for watching, and have a wonderful day.
Nice job! Was there some poison oak mixed in? When you get into poison oak do you bother cleaning the equipment, or let the rain and digging take care of the urushiol?
It could handle the weight, I actually spent some time on a new 57-5 week before last with the thought of upgrading. After giving it a test, although it does have more power, it felt slow compared to the 040 and not enough of a difference to give up my 6 way blade. My plan is to eventually buy a 080 and also have the 040 I have my 87 Peterbilt that I haul the dozer on that I can haul an 80 on.
Looks like a good job for a small dozer. Also your comment on the 4ft bucket and stumps possibly causing harm had my attention. I get why so will keep my thinking cap on when using my wide bucket.
As wet and muddy as it was, the dozer might have gotten stuck. And yes, there is a lot of twisting power because of the leverage. You can definitely break things. Have a wonderful day 😊
