Another bucket list trip and destination -- Clearwater River, Lewiston, ID. Thanks to Stotts Fishing Adventures for getting me on these beautiful steelhead. This was my first time fishing for steelhead of this size and caliber, so I was inexperienced at fighting them, however I didn't miss many of them. An amazing trip and unforgettable experience. I'd highly recommend it. Next trip, Orlando, FL (February 2023) for spawning monster large mouth bass. Stay tuned for more videos...

love seeing fish "hooked +,landed) put your rod tip to the top of the river. you'll land more.

Thanks for the tip. I was so excited to be hooking fish of this size that I was a bit overwhelmed. It was my first time catching steelhead on a boat, using these techniques and with this type of equipment. I wasn't 100% certain about how hard I could pull and how the drag would play during the fight. Amazing fish out there, though. What a river! I have fished for steelhead on a fly rod in Pulaski, NY on the salmon river. That's a whole different type of challenge.

I’ve been having dreams about that clicker sound since my trip lol When I spoke with the guide, he said they expected their next steelie run to be upwards of 30,000 fish in the Clearwater. That is staggering and hard to believe. I felt so fortunate to get on all of the fish that I did. It was incredible. I’d love to get them on a fly rod. I might have to look for a fly fishing guide the next time when I’m out there.
