This came out in the spring/summer of 1995 and was played on the country stations in my area. This was on his first album Cledus T Judd No Relation (1995) I still have the original copy. I have all his alblums
Jeffery Lynam no offense to country fans. But the new country that’s out sounds really gay. Give me my old school country artists like Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Conway Twitty, Merle Haggard, George Jones, Bill Anderson, John Anderson, Chris Kristofferson, Johnny Cash, Reba McEntire, June Carter Cash, Jessi Colter, and others. Only the country artist that mattered from the 70s through the 90s and some of the 2000s. Luke Bryan and the rest of them suck. Well, I do like James auto.
I think Cledus was getting revelations that Country was gonna "go funky". Sadly, that's where new Country is at now. You can't even listen to Country radio anymore and expect to hear much of the older stuff, just the Crap (Country Rap). It's gotten to the point that I'd rather be listening to the Oldies station than the "Country" station. But unfortunately, I usually have to suffer through it all day at work; and I swear, if I hear "Knockin Boots" one more time, I'm gonna start "Knockin'" shit off the walls!
“It’s Gone Funky” could be the title to a song about everything in the fridge going bad. Weird Al made a song with a similar theme based on an Aerosmith song.
Yes the new country has gone funky. It sucks. Give me my old school country artist from the 70s through half of the 2000s and I’ll be satisfied. No offense to anyone that likes country but the new stuff sucks. If you were a legend that makes new music, fine I’ll buy it. If you’re a new artist that I’ve never heard of, I’ll pass.
