Who makes Siege Tanks in midgame TvP?

I think the problem is that Protoss' lower tier army can't get much done without microing Stalkers. Even in the lategame, a medivac of marines or a zergling runby can get a lot done, but zealot runbys, eh, not so fearsome. And then there's the Ghost who can basically halve the HP of the entire protoss army with one good EMP..

Maybe a Templar Archive upgrade for Zealots and Adepts to help keep up in the mid/late game? Some ideas being: +25 hp or +1 armor for zealots to help close the gap before being evaporated, for Adepts +6 damage so that they can 2 shot marines w/o affecting the zerg matchup much. Doubt these would be balanced but it would be cool to see some later upgrades for those 2 to spice up the mid game in particular

Give it an upgrade at the Cy Core that boosts it's energy regen rate, reduce Hallucination's cost and duration, and have Guardian Shield be like Fenix's Sentries in Co-op, cast it at a target area of effect. Allow Sentries to make more frequent use of their skills to better control the battlefield for the Protoss

I don't think the balance of TvP needs a full redesign just because MaxPax lost a _very_ close game. I think there were ways for MaxPax to win. And he almost did, multiple times. I would have liked to see MaxPax use High Templar, get storm, feedback the ghosts, add a couple archons, etc. The zealot and DT runbys had diminishing returns in the later stages of the match. Seems wasteful at a certain point.

@@ihaveboogers6391it’s a weak argument to say “it was maybe physically possible to have victory!” The fact is that MaxPax outplayed on bases, on income, on upgrades. He had constant harass in the back, and 3 squads on 3 separate fronts at home. When the early game isn’t perfect, he dies. When it is perfect, it just goes to mid game. When he plays slightly better, he loses. When he dominates gameplay, he squeaks a win.

The amount that he can absorb is no laughing matter.

Or just have them do the same damage against all units like they did until LOTV. Colossus are already the most vulnerable unit in the game, having them being relegated to being T3 anti-light when there's no T3 light is a joke.

Totally agree with this. I think this is what MaxPax was missing in the final game (and in the series, in general).

Did he play any high templar in this series? Storm is great obviously, but ghosts, especially emp, is hard countering them so much. Making Archons is so risky as well because of it. I havent played for many years, so I am speaking only from a viewer point. I played random back in the day, but I remember, that it was pretty hard to feedback ghosts in the middle of an army and on the other side it was always easier to emp everything, cause its an undodgable aoe.

The problem is that while Storm is good, ghosts do hard counter them with EMP doing both shield damage and removing energy. And while feedback can be strong, EMP does the same thing in an AOE. Ghosts counter a lot of units but don't have a particularly easy counter themselves. And I'm guessing MaxPax wants to dedicate gas to other units that are less hard countered by Ghosts.

The battery would take a long time to build and would be worthless once the Warp Prism gets moving around, which is where it shines for Protoss - scooping up weak units alongside blink. Ultimately, I think the forward Shield Battery isn't worth it even if it manages to get built, especially since you'd also need to carry only 3 Stalkers to make room for even just 1 Probe. Too many costs for too little benefit, I think. Colossus take so much time building in Robo facilities that you can't spare time to make Immortals alongside them, unfortunately. Or you have to invest a lot in adding more production buildings when you're already squeezing every resource to max your econ and army, especially in the early-mid game.
