They are money hungry. That's why I never shop at stores owned by this people. The other thing they always do is to keen you change if its like a couple cents but if you're short a couple cents its a different story.
Dam right its infuriating imagine your struggling in life you get a winning ticket that could possibly change your life and some greedy shop keeper literally has your pants down and robs you its awful the uk is full of it
No kidding. In the U.S. the last twenty years over $50M has been stolen by good citizens & residents like this man by pinning, switching, & just plain lying to your face. "Not a winner." Even though you just won $1,000,000. (California case) Always be on your toes.
Nevada law does not allow casino workers to gamble in the same place they work. A simple solution would be to prohibit clerks who sell such tickets from being able to cash them in.
@@stanr8946 Our laws are like that here in BC, Canada as well. We have a very strict lottery corporation here. I also believe that family of store workers are also not allowed to purchase tickets from said relative working at that store.
@@scoot8534 oh please ….I speak three & I found it funny. The more languages you speak the funnier it becomes because of the accent differences. What can anyone of us do IF he is indeed ‘racist’? We are going to go inside his brain & change his mind? Anyway….the US has free speech & I am going to exercise it next…. @@GA-os1uy completely agree, but what he meant by being "careful" is hes going to dig into all your post history and "backtrace" you so he can "cancel" you... such cancer the left is lol
Honestly, I think anyone who tries to pull this stunt needs to pay the actual winner 10 times the amount that had been won. In this case, it’ll be $6,000. But I would have thrown in at least a few years of jail time. But if he refuses to pay the $6,000 to the actual winner, his sentence should be the one that gets increased 10 folds, meaning that he’ll serve 30 years instead……. All because he had tried to steal a measly $600 lottery ticket…. 🤦🏻♂️ ….
@@bernieudo4399 oh yeah, happens all the time. This is a tell-tale sign that the clerk is planning on screwing you when you try to claim it, they ask you "how much did you win?". Why would they ask that if they can just scan it and see for themselves? because they want to screw you. they're hoping you think it's worth less than what it's actually worth, so if you really won $500 and you only think it's worth $50. then they'll tell you that you won $50 and then they'll pocket the $450.
@jfiowejhfieodjawjtr fjirosjfiosegreh9f Does more often than you think. The victim doesn't report the crime because he's not aware of what happened. Clerks know. They see if you signed the ticket. They see if you're a newbie & are relying on their guidance. Oh yeah. Still goes on. If it weren't such a problem, the States would disband their fraud units a decade ago.
If someone wins at my job i always print two receipts showing the winning total. One for paperwork at the end of the night and one for the customer. For this reason. i had a customer swear she won $20 but when i scanned it,it said the prize was already claimed. She told me i was lying, so i took a picture of the ticket and computer screen, just to document everythimg and i gave her ticket back, and told her to come back to see my boss. She ended up comimg back the next day to speak to my boss and tried to have me fired saying i took her money. When my boss scanned her ticket again, she invited her to look at the screen showing it said "prize already claimed". She still thought i stole her money.Thank god my boss has a good, clear camera facing the lotto machine, showing i didn't take nothimg when she ran the cameras back🙏🏽😪 My boss said believe it not people try to take money using a ticket they already claimed the money off of. And if i woulda gave her the money amd the drawer was short, it woulda came out my check.😭
You’re wrong! Under Section 812.014, Florida Statutes, Grand Theft is defined as the unlawful taking or using of property, valued at $300.00 or more, with the intent to deprive the owner of his or her rights to the property.
There should be a booth in stores where customers can walk in and scan their tickets themselves or tickets should have QR codes so that customers can scan their tickets at home after the draw.
That’s already a thing. Lottery apps allow you to scan your ticket’s bar code to see if it’s a winner. And a lot of places like gas stations and convenient stores that sell tickets do have machines where you can verify winning tickets yourself. I’ve even seen one at Walmart.
Scan the tickets yourself.. I don't trust ANYONE who has the opportunity to scam me. I also only buy my instant tickets from a machine.. No human contact after the roll is put in so no chance to be scammed.
That's why you never hand the ticket to the clerk you check it to yourself to make sure it's a winner also take a picture of the winning ticket and your face so you can actually tell that it was you with the winning numbers
In California, I've never heard the terminals make a "winning sound." In any event, most retailers have self-service scanners to verify if your ticket is a winner. If I happen to have a super-duper-lotto-millions ticket, after checking it online and if I'm a winner, it's off to the lotto office for me, even if it's 100 miles away. Your local food mart doesn't carry suitcases full of money to pay large jackpots. :/
Where I'm from they make a winning sound. If you aren't checking yourself before asking the retailer to check then you're just asking to be scammed. Always write your name & sign the back with check safe pens, like Uniball.
Convenient way to steal from the public. Actually twice. First, by telling you she's a loser. (Actually $10,000) Then, claiming it for themselves. (State pays wrong individual & public is robbed)
Yeah hes not working at that store anymore hes working at 1 of the other Stores that they own You can only imagine how much this goes on Most of those marts are family owned So getting fired is obsolete
The LOTTERY had to put that SOUND in the machines! The foreign clerks were doin this crap waay too much!..one stole a million dollar ticket and went back to INDIA! avoid those stores as far as checking your ticket goes
I can believe on how the government give these people who come to NYC and give them money home money car and more . look what government give these people money to open a stores
The customers paid for the losing tickets too , with their own money . I don't play scratch off lottery and glad i don't because if someone takes my money I'd want to kill them.
@@quintonluster4886--They do get killed sometimes when they set up shop in gang neighborhoods and rip off people they should have known better than to have done so. 😕
In Texas you can scan ALL Lottery Tickets at any store that sells the Texas Lottery. And yes, it makes a distinctive sound if the Ticket is a Winner. It's good the Lottery put those barcodes on the Ticket now so you can scan it yourself. If you get ripped off now in Texas, YOU deserve it. It's YOUR OWN FAULT. The Texas Lottery have put in place a way the Consumer can check their own Ticket to see if they have a Winning Ticket. If YOU get ripped off, that's on YOU!
This is very common! They need to continue this! Customers have no chance if owners and clerks continue to steal! No wonder people don't win! This theft is common in Georgia also!
This is nothing new for indian , they do all the time . In Georgia , lottery put small ticket checker machine out side in the store , so customer check his winning or loosing tickets by himself so there's no chance for cheating
