You have on tap the surface of what in in Cleveland...believe it is one of the greatest locations in the nation. A hidden gem💎 Lived here all my life...traveled to many parts of the U.S.A. and Europe...we have beaches, a national park (cuyohoga valley) skiing, boating,Great outdoor summer events( W.o.w, Edgewater, Euclid Park, etc) hiking, cycling, golf courses, museums, Great hospitals...plan to live here always, and visit others places ❤
It is the mistake on the lake, not one of the greatest locations in the nation. I lived there my whole life also. You must live in the outer suburbs to say such silly things. Cuyahoga Valley National Park is not in Cleveland and has a mask mandate, inside buildings and OUTSIDE, regardless of vacs status or transmission levels - sounds like a blast.
@dammarr04 I forgot that comment existed. Anyway, cleveland just has a lot of issues with many things, but overall, it’s a great place. (I was dumb back a year ago)
THANK YOU FOR SHOWING OUR BEST SIDE!! Love the video man. Honestly 10-15 years ago Cleveland wasn't the best, wasnt the cleanest. But now? Its a clean as hell and a great place with alot of things going on and happening. Lots of things to do for both old and young. Cleveland makes our entire NE Ohio region proud.
Cincinnati Native, Never Been To Cleveland Before, I Always Wanted To Visit Up There. Upper Midwestern Cities Are Built Up More, Especially In The Downtown Areas. Cleveland Reminds Me Of A Smaller Version Of Detroit. 💯
Great to see you feature my home town. For the record, the reason why the Rock and Roll HOF is here in Cleveland is that Alan Freed termed the phrase "Rock and Roll" right here in Cleveland! That is why we have the hall. While we share the annual induction ceremony with New York (still to this day I don't understand this) we are very proud to have it here in Cleveland!
What's up my friend? I am from Cleveland, presently living in Phoenix, Az. with plans to come back home. I've been planning this for the last 3 years, and this makes it really easy. The one thing I miss living in Phoenix right now is trees. Those lovely pockets of untouched growth of areas in between neighborhoods that almost look like small parks; they're just spots of land that no one has built on, and the city decided to leave alone. Of coarse there's the Park system they have there called The Emerald necklace. That 50 mile loop of Parks that connects The different neighborhoods together through streets. That I miss out here. This makes it easy to come back home. Thanks, I really enjoyed this video.
I ❤ Cleveland...home sweet home) ...also: voted best orchestra in the world several years over, the 5th best art museum in the WORLD, one of the largest theater districts in the country (sq. footage), a beautiful metroparks (Emerald Necklace), one of the best library systems in the country (Cuyahoga County Library System)....and the list shall go on and on! Thanks for visiting)🙏
I grew up in Cleveland. Jacks Casino used to be an upscale department store. It will ALWAYS be Jacob's Field to me! What a year the Indians had there!!! WOW< didn't know the Powerhouse was an Aquarium now! WOW!! I used to frequently go to The Flats!! Went to the West Side Market many many times! Did you stay at the Wyndham on 9th Street? That is a beautiful place right near the Theatre District. That's what it looked like from the quick glance we got.
6:09 FYI, Terminal Tower is the location they filmed for the Avengers when Loki walks out of the building in Stuttgart, Germany. Also, the Russo brothers who directed the last couple Avengers movies are Cleveland natives and filmed Cherry here with Tom Holland.
You stood right in front of my work trailer as a backdrop the one with the mural in front of the volleyball courts next to Nuevo. I worked security for North Coast Harbor.
I'm from Slovenia and would love to go to Cleveland one day. I'm a big Cavs fan and love all American sports but I also really like the Slovenian heritage in Cleveland and their status as a underdog which translates to people who live there I think. Sure there are more esthetic and architecturally more beautiful cities in USA but there is just something about Cleveland which intrigues me. I agree with you that there is a lot potential for improvement but for me that is a positive not a negative. I would also like to commend you on a beautifully shot video, especially the timelapse and drone shot in the end 👏🔥
Very nice video of Cleveland, my hometown. I know it was a one day tour, but for those staying longer..there's much more to see such as Playhouse Square, Cleveland Art museum (3rd best in USA and it's free), the Metro Parks for hiking camping and fishing, and an hour away Cedar Point. Great video
@@jena6587 on a comment to a video. It was a one day tour. Who would actually stay a week in Cleveland? Let's be honest. If I wasn't from here...Cleveland would be a resting stop to NYC or Chicago.
The ENTIRE UNIVERSITY CIRCLE area is ALSO BEAUTIFUL, where all the museums are located and the BEAUTIFUL Museum of Art and SEVERENCE HALL (home of the Cleveland Orchestra), Case Western Reserve University, and University Hospitals of Cleveland Complex, CLeveland Clinic
Excellent video - thanks for profiling my hometown! When you someday come back to do a follow-up, check out the many attractions in the surrounding areas, such as the Cleveland Metroparks system (nothing else in the country compares to it), the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, The Cuyahoga County Public Library System (voted #1 in the country), Amish country to the east and the south. Too, too, many things to list here. So much more to see and do here!
Please do come, there is so much more that he didn't show that would be great for you to see. It's a lovely city with lots to see and do. Don't believe all the jokes and negative comments that some people seem to like to perpetuate. I am a proud Cleveland native who is 76 years old and I LOVED growing up here.
Nice video. We're doing 4 nights in Cleveland next week. Everyone, here in NJ, thinks we're crazy for vacationing in Cleveland but it looks like a cool place. Cool bars & a nice walkable city.
There's alot to do in the area from great night life to recreat and shopping. Even has a National park,As well as Gildersleeve Mountain that's 18 miles away from the city where you can get a nice view of the skyline.
@@AJM-timecop nice, glad to hear it. I hope you went to the art museum, I live in the city and I think its by far one of the best things it has to offer.
Thanks for the great overview and very cool video! I was born and raised there and plan to move back soon to retire. You have only scratched the surface of all that Cleveland is.
@@wyattearpswoman838 Yes. That's how I receive Cleveland. Low cost of living. Affordable housing. Cultural amenities galore. Diverse cultures and amazing food. You have obviously never been there.
A lot of people from NYC and Cali moving to Cleveland. The great housing Migration. Selling their homes for 5 to 7 mil+ buying mansions in Cleveland for 1 to 2 mil.
@@californiamade5608 Sorry but I'm in real estate and see cash buyers from cali and NY way more than ever in history. Just because your friends aren't moving doesn't mean it's not happening
@@californiamade5608 You are right., there is no comparison. The quality of life in Cleveland is SO MUCH better than California. The cost of living, homelessness, traffic, smog,, taxes ,lack of water, wildfires have just become unbearable in California and it keeps getting worse.
Im a former Clevelander, born & raised there but moved away in '88. I'd always known it to be West Side Market...sounds much better that West End Market. Sometimes change is not good. I love the improvements they've made in the downtown area but I don't agree with name changes. Jacob's Field will always be Jacob's Field. I still miss the old Cleveland Stadium though. 😕
@@gurky2hart6566 I have a T-shirt that says "IT WILL ALWAYS BE JACOB"S FIELD TO ME" But you know how it is these days, when it changes ownership SO does the name. I think it's WRONG and I don't agree with stadiums, arenas, ball parks being named after corporations, banks, or whatever. I miss the old Cleveland Stadium too. Saw Indians and Browns games in the '50s and '60s there when I was growing up, also saw the BEATLES there on Aug. 14, 1966 and PAUL McCARTNEY on July 20, 1990.
@@wyattearpswoman838 Pressure from Native Americans. I wanted it to stay the Indians Too, but Guardians was a better choice than some of the other options. It STILL have a "Cleveland connection" to the "GUARDIANS OF TRANSPORTATION" statues that are at both ends of the Hope Memorial Bridge (Lorain-Carnegie Bridge) which is located near Progressive field where they play. Those statues are beautiful, and iconic, built in 1932. SO if we couldn't keep the Indians name, this was, for me, the next best thing.
Another great video. Thanks. I lived in Cleveland for 30 years. It has a really nice string of parks around the city, called the Emerald Necklace, that are big enough to get lost in. BTW, many people thought the stadium should have been called "Taxpayers Stadium" because that's who paid for it. :)
Nothing agaisnt what you covered, and I know you cannot cover everything, but you missed University Circle, the cultural heart of Cleveland; Playhouse Square, the largest theater district between NYC and Chicago; and the Cleveland Metroparks, our recreational center that surrounds the city. I hope that you come back one day and tour those.
Good video of showcasing the hometown. Just wish you’d maybe had a local with you. You could’ve went inside the west SIDE market to see the 100 or so other vendors that aren’t all produce. The Market Garden has a brewery right behind it that you can tour. Same as Great Lakes Brewery across the street. I know you can only fit so much in a video…great job over all.
Good video representing our city, people visiting could probably make a good 3-4 day trip combining the city with cedar point and the pro football hall, both only an hour away from Cleveland.
A very interesting video. As someone who is not from Cleveland I found it intriguing that outside of the sporting venues and the area near some of the bars/restaurants there weren't many people walking around. Did you find that to be common? The roads and streets looked a bit empty too. Was that due to simply the time of day you were filming? I also see you ate at Chipotle. What about some of the local mom and pop places to eat?
@@focused4841 Apparently, different jurisdictions interpreted the guidance and regulations from the various government agencies in various ways. Some parts of the country processed their responses differently. Since I have never been to Cleveland I was unfamiliar with its interpretation, and that of the community as a whole, to the situation as well as any subsequent issues. That's why I asked.
@@ROXSTARCorvette4371 Yeaa youre right. At this point, America should just be 50 different countries. Its crazy and on top of that theres been a lot of closures too so were still not fully recovered.
I was an exchange Student in Bristolville, oh (85/86). I wanted always to visit the city but the host families I had never took me there or if we eventually drove through it was a ghostly city. I didn’t understand anything really because I’m used to city life and I was living stranded in the middle of cornfields… Well, I’ve never returned to the USA again… Greetings!
Cleveland has worked hard to rub off the bad national image of being called the "mistake on the lake" from the 70's and 80's. Everyone I have met who has visted CLE within the last decade gave nothing but high remarks. CLE has the cultural diversity, architecture, music, food, sports fans, rich and poor, and pleasant people that makes it the perfect mid-size "big city".
Yes, I couldn't believe that he said it was big. It IS the smallest of the Great Lakes, also the SHALLOWEST which makes it the MOST DANGEROUS in storms because it IS so shallow and high waves kick up easier and faster than deeper lakes. But yeah, you still can't see Ontario from Cleveland.
I'm in Cincinnati and the summers here are brutal! I'm thinking of retiring to the Cleveland area just for a cooler climate. Where's a nice place to live in Northeast Ohio?
Chagrin Falls, Cuyahoga Falls, Willoughby, Richmond Heights, Macedonia, Lakewood, Rocky River, Fairview Park, Strongsville, Westlake, Brooklyn and maybe Parma or Berea. All are Cleveland suburbs.
Dude, the rock ‘n’ roll Hall of Fame is in Cleveland because of Alan Freed, a disc jockey who spun records there and coined the term… A basic google search would have informed you of this 😂😂😂
