CLH: Stories of Women Athletes 

in this community lunch hour, we celebrated Portage County women in athletics and our community's compelling history of women in sports. Women’s Fund Director Sarah Ross facilitated discussions with Sheila Miech, former UWSP women’s soccer coach and the first woman inducted into the Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Hall of Fame, about her experiences as a trailblazer. Sue Koehl, a Title IX and Community Volunteer, and John Harry, Executive Director of the Portage County Historical Society shared about how they captured the rich history of women athletes and how the community can learn more through the exhibit and recently released book.
