Bro now you got me crying my dad died thinking my brother hated him. He thought the entire family hated him. When he died my brother let out the loudest sob I’ve heard in my life (mind you I’ve only seen him cry 2 or 3 times but this was by far the loudest and most heartfelt) because he couldn’t tell him he forgave him. That made me start bawling (I cry whenever one of my siblings or my mother cries I’m just really sensitive) because I knew he must have been hurting bad. I love you dad RIP 💔😢

It's pretty curious, Seth Rogen has that same effect going on doesn't he? The guy was brilliant in Observe & Report and 50/50 too but he sticks to his disinteresting comedies. I get the decision on a basic level, these low-brow comedies provide many people with jobs and these actors are decent enough to take that into consideration but I wonder whether they were just discouraged by the lack of response from their more dramatic output. As for Sandler, recently watched Punch Drunk Love. It's great and he's great in it. Funny People was very unique until the third act became a derivative romance scenario but I found his character fascinating before the in-movie recovery.
@sasukecoochieha
@sasukecoochieha 6 лет назад
Edriss Scofield Yes, I agree that may be the reasoning for Rogen to keep up with his comedic works. Though it's tough to think Sandler would be discouraged by such a thing, I believe a majority of all the film's he played a serious character he was given praises for. Maybe he just enjoys making people laugh with his unusual humor.

I think the ratings were bad because it was ahead of it's time. It's not a conventional way to construct a movie, because in the eyes of a critic it's either a comedy or it's not. But I think that's what makes this film so powerful, it represents life in it's pure form. When you're young it's all jokes and being silly and little care for anything, but when you get older you start to get more serious. There's a strong message to this story...don't waste your life, remember family comes first!

My dad died unexpectedly almost two years ago from a hospital infection they werent quick enough to diagnose. The night before his procedure, I joined him and his friends for their weekly poker night. He lost all of his chips and went home early. I think he did it intentionally because he was ready to go home and relax. I gave him a hug like always, told him I loved him, and we both drove away. He had his surgery on Wednesday, went home a few hours later, went back in on Thursday morning and died on Saturday, less than 72 hours after his "simple surgery". I didnt visit him in the hospital because the doctor kept telling my mom he would be home by Monday. The worst day of my life. Im glad that the last moment I had with him alive was a big hug, and he told me he loved me. The next time I was with him again, he was gone, covered in tubes and wires, wearing a hospital gown. I wish I could go back. If only there were some kind of magic remote. I just have to accept that even if I could have saved him then, he would still die another day and you cant change the end result. You can only be mindful of life and how short is really is. Dont wait until someones gone to tell them you love them.
@frostbite585
@frostbite585 6 лет назад
Damn, man. I wasn't ready for that comment. When I was 10, my grandma who I was very close to was in the hospital. My dad was going to visit her, and asked if I wanted to come. I said no, because I was having fun at our cottage. I was too stupid and self absorbed to make time for her. I wish so bad I could undo that day. Anyways, I'm so sorry to hear that happened. But theres no blame on you. You had no reason to believe it was anything less than routine. And at least you have that nice hug to walk away with. I like your message though. Sandlers character calling himself pathetic was so sad. Watching your biggest regret unfold right in front of you would really hurt. I understand where you're coming from, I'm in the same situation. Of course there are times when you have to accept reality but that's not what this movie was about nor what is was trying to say. Nonetheless, I'm willing to go out on a limb and say you are speaking from personal experience. I tentatively agree with you if one's father leaves at an age before 5 or something. However, even when a father leaves during young adolescence the kid shouldn't just accept reality, especially if the dad attempts to come back into the picture later on in life.

I just lost my father a few weeks ago. My dad thought I hated him despite me taking a leave of absence to help him take care of himself because he’s had 9 back surgeries, struggled with depression, mental health and family trauma growing up, and had two heart attacks. But I got a letter from my dad (my mom gave me) that he typed in his notes on his phone before passing away, telling me that he was proud of me, loved me, and that he was sorry for whatever it was that he thought I hated him for. But I know he knows that I didn’t hate him for anything. I was just angry with myself in not being able to make him see that he wasn’t taking care of himself and his body was getting worse and he wasn’t doing anything to at least keep his body healthy. I always thought ‘Click’ was a great movie and this scene makes me wish I could tell my dad the truth about the source of my anger. But I know he knows and he is no longer suffering. He suffered for so long and yet would give you the shirt off his back to help you. But even Superman needs help sometimes too. “I love you and I’ll miss you, dad. But you know that.”

The moral of this scene: Never take your family for granted.

Movie gives you clarity on how precious life is and what it can take by force. Plenty of people without mothers and fathers. Always has been a great movie with the best message.

This movie just comes out of nowhere with the hard-hitting stuff, started out light-hearted and became such a tearjerker.

I literally cried in this scene, in my opinion this is the best adam sandler movie, if you are old enough and move to the side all the comedy and jokes, and actually focus on the message this movie is sending, you will find yourself very emotional, the most precious thing we have is time, it can never go back, enjoy the little things, spend time with your family, stop focusing on too much materialistic stuff, you dont know what you have until its gone, everyone have a great day and go give your father a hug

Click is one of my favorite films of all time. It´s so realistic, because we are like him (without a remote). We go thru life in a hurry, and forget the little moments and the people we love. I cry every single time, and specially in this scene.. I'm drying my eyes as I write.

Let talk about the true acting happening here, you have Sandler having to play two people in the scene at once. One serious and the other going through a mix of emotions. He’s an amazing actor

If you lost a parent, you know this feeling. I was an good terms with my mom when she passed unexpectedly and I can't help but feel a sense of guilt because I didn't hug her a little harder or told her I loved her more often. Little things that still kill me to this day. I recommend people call their parents and visit them often because one day they won't be there anymore.

I moved to japan 2 years ago and I’ve been so busy with work that I haven’t had any time to go visit my family. This immediately made me call my dad just to hear his voice. We talked for 4 hours and his last words to me before hanging up were “I love you, son” Someday I’ll never get to hear those words anymore and it breaks my heart. Appreciate your parents, guys. Or whoever looked after you growing up. They are the real MVPs and they are more precious than any of us will realize. Watching my mother and father go through the pain of losing their parents was enough to show me just what it means to have been loved growing up. I’ll never get over seeing how my mother reacted to my grandfathers passing. I could never imagine losing my parents. It would devastate me beyond comprehension. For those of you that did lose your mother or father, my heart truly goes out to you.
