Applying for your Cruising Permit Online for the first time? Here is a Tutorial guiding you through the process of putting on your declaration for submission to Bahamas Customs. The Bahamas Customs has now launched its digital Cruising Permit Module (22nd February, 2021) in an effort to make declaring your vessel simple, easy and seamless. Take a look to see the full process.
UPDATE (Changes): [updated January 1st, 2023]
- The Site's Landing Page no longer has the link stating 'Pleasure Craft'.
- Instead to log in, select the "Request Cruising Permit" button. No username or password is required to log in.
- Boaters do not need to register as an importer unless they intend to import items into the country. If all you have are you accompanied baggage, you can declare them within the system's Cruising Permit Module.
- COVID 19 requirements are NO LONGER required for entry into The Bahamas. The tab option in the documents tab can be deleted by selecting the handle (three dots) and select 'Delete'.
To Log into the system:
Log On: www.besw.gov.bs/TFBSEW/TFB.jsp
- No Username or Password Required.
- Select the 'Aircraft' link/button beneath the log in fields
- Registration is only necessary when you intend to import items into The Bahamas.

For the port of call list in the 2. Maritime Declaration section: Please clarify the stared items and what you are looking for. Also please clarify that looking for five previous to our current location in this section

Port of Call refers to the last five ports you have entered. If you have not entered any previous ports, then simply put the last part you exited from to come to The Bahamas.

Can I pre-fill the Click2Clear with an entry date and then go back and edit the entry date a few days or weeks later if there are weather/mechanical/family issues preventing me from travelling on the original entry date?

Yes you can. You are allowed to fill out the whole form and save as you go along. To make the matter simple, you can apply for the Travel Visa in advance as well so there is no hold up.

The website has changed and there isn’t a “pleasure craft” choice on the first page …..if you click request a cruising permit it takes you to the examples …….I can’t get a response for how to access our registrations or log in either.

The only thing that has changed is the Request Cruising Permit Button. All you have to do is select that button and Search Inbound to find existing records. You do not need a password or to register to apply for a Cruising Permit

All I'd like to know is how to get a fishing permit, for one day, for off shore NOT using sport fishing boat, I'm just visiting December 10th getting off a cruise ship and would take my own simple fishing rod, to see if I catch something offshore from a beach... Is this the same place to apply for this kind of permit? Because it seems it's all for recreational sports fishing boatings... Please advise if this is not the place, where is it or what do I need to do to get one? I appreciate it, THANKS in advance =)

No, you would have to reach out to the Ministry of Agriculture and Marine Resources for such a permit. This is specifically for brokers and couriers. Apologies for the delay. Took me 4 attempts but I finally got it all filled out ,now I'm on the last part where it says payment due,I see the amount to pay -in this case 300 bucks but nowhere to actually put my credit card in and pay . I leave at 0600 tomorrow morning. So hopefully all the details are there when I arrive and I can just pay there

You can pay using the portal the same way you logged in. PAYING FOR YOUR CRUISING PERMIT: -In the menu to the left, select the Payment Menu and choose "Pleasure Craft Payment" - Enter your Business Transaction Number (Rotation Number/PCR Number) ensuring that it is entered with all Capital Letters and includes the dash "-". (E.g. PCR-520210101). - Press “Enter” and your record should appear. Click to open -Go to the “Payment” tab and select “Online Payment” as the payment mode, you will be forwarded to the payment portal to make payment. Please keep a copy of the receipt for your records.

I understand that when you put save changes, those changes were saved but how can I go back and edit things after leaving the page if I have no account?

Yes, you can log in as you did before to request a cruising permit but instead of creating a new voyage, you can Search Inbound and enter your Rotation Number and Vessel Registration Number. Note: - The moment you save your Header Tab (The first page in Create Inbound), your Rotation Number appears on the upper left of the form. - The system is very case sensitive. Data must be entered exactly as it is given or entered into the system such as (PCR-0X2022XXXXXX) wherein the PCR and - must be entered without spaces followed by the number. The same goes for the vessel registration. If you originally entered it in all CAPS or lowercase letters, it must be put in the same way you entered it in order for it to be found in the system.

Good afternoon, I have recently completed the click2clear process. Upon attempting to make payment however it says that my balance is $600? We only have two persons aboard our 39 ft vessel. I thought the cost for our permit should be only $300 have I completed something wrong

The fee structure has since changed. Please view the following to ensure that you are being classified within the correct area. The fee associated with receiving a Temporary Cruising Permit and Fishing Permit is - Pleasure Vessels Not Exceeding 34 feet: $150.00 (3 months) $300.00 (12 months) Pleasure Vessels Exceeding 34 feet but less than 100 feet: $300.00 (3 months) $600.00 (12 months) Pleasure Vessels Exceeding 100 feet but less than 150 feet: $500.00 (3 months) $1,000.00 (12 months) Pleasure Vessels Exceeding 150 feet but less than 200 feet: $800.00 (3 months) $1,600.00 (12 months) Pleasure Vessels Exceeding 200 feet: $1,000.00 (3 months) $2,000.00 (12 months)

Several questions here: 1) Is the COVID health visa a thing of the past? Do you want me to upload my proof of vaccination cards? 2) For home port (ours is Camden ME, USA) there are many Camdens listed for the USA. Which is mine? 3) What is the difference between "copy of passport(s)" and "passport copies (principals)"? 4) Are we to fill out paper forms, scan them and upload them or is just entering the information ok? ('crew list' eg) I'm glad you have the website, just want to make sure I'm doing it correctly and not missing any documents.

1) The COVID-19 issues have been completed removed. No need to take a PCR Test to come to The Bahamas. 2) You do not need vaccination cards now that it has been removed (mentioning the above) 3) You do not need to upload your passports, that is now optional. 4) No. You should not send the manual paperwork in upload. You only need to fill out this form. You print the Cruising Permit at the end that has to be approved by Customs.

Just to confirm. Once the Inbound is duly validated and filed with the authorities through Click2Clear: 1- Do we await a reply with confirmation before being "officially cleared"? 2- Is there any other formality required for a private vessel (form or else)?

Once payment is made, Search Inbound and pull up your record with the PCR Number and Vessel registration number entered before. Then select the three dots to the right of your record to Print your Cruising Permit Document. Once you have that, you can freely depart whenever you like. Confirmation of your Cruising Permit only happens inland where the document is stamped and signed by a Customs Officer to be made legal.

To recap as I have a planned trip soon: ENTRY: I apply online on Click2Clear a day ahead of departure from Florida and pay the cruising permit before crossing to Cat Cay. I show up in Cat cay to process our arrival and stamp the Cruising permit. Entry completed. DEPARTURE: I just have to process my departure on Click2Clear - no requirement to stop again in Cat Cay for in-person formalities. Can you confirm please. I am all to be in line with procedures.

In the past this kind of thing would have been a disaster without end. But my experience using this was not bad and, IMPORTANTLY, when I had problems I just emailed them and they were all over it and fixed it quickly. There will always be some growing pains but I think Bahamas is doing way better on this than I expected. It's not the normal "oh yeah you on bahamas time now". Its being run more like an American operation AFAIKT. And I do think they will keep working to make it better over time. One big question nobody seems to have asked is where the Internet connection is supposed to come from. Do they expect that boaters will have satellite internet or are they hoping our cell phones will have a data plan that works in the Bahamas? No, you cannot just fill it all out in advance because of the need for covid test results. So that remains a real question. Bahamas should put out free internet signals around major ports of entry that only goes to these gov web sites.

Well I've spent the better part of 2 hours trying to do this. You need to have your COVID Health Visa ready to upload meaning you have to do this at the last minute? I loaded all our crew right down to their addresses and phone numbers, passports, boat details now it says it can't find my PCR, and you can't pay without a Business Transaction # SO- not so ready for prime time?

You can prepare it in advance and save for submission when you have all the documents. Also ensure that you use the entirety of the system generated Rotation Number (eg. PCR-010101010). We are sorry for getting back to you so late. If at any time you have any problems feel free to email us @click2clear@bahamas.gov.bs. Also the Business Transaction Number is the same as a Rotation Number. Unless the declaration is submitted, you cannot pay. It is best to prepare it in advance and then submit the documents when you get them.

This is without a doubt, the absolute worst website I have ever had the misfortune to use. I am in my sixth hour of trying to do an inbound. There’s not enough space here for me to explain the different problems that I’ve had and the difficulty of finding any help. Thanks for nothing
