The 75 lbs. crash test dog wearing a Clickit Sport dog safety harness remained on the test bench for the duration of the CMVSS No. 213 (Canadian) crash test. Sleepypod is the first pet product manufacturer to tests its pet safety restraints for cars at U.S., Canadian, and European child restraint systems standards with successful results.

Hi I am getting a puppy and want to understand if I can use the same harness for the puppy as it grows , getting a golden retriever, please advice, also can I use it in the front and back seat ?

You'd have to get a different harness for the different sizes! They have a size chart on their website to measure what your dog needs.

You shouldnt ride with your dog in the front seat. They're in much more danger because of the airbags and exposure to the windshield. It's best to follow the same rules for children and keep them in the back seat.

A 75lb dog isn’t going to sit like that in the car. Does this pass if the dog is laying down?

Hi Kevin - Thanks for your interest in Clickit Sport car harness. Dogs can sit up, lay down, and shift position when using Sleepypod's Clickit harnesses as a safety restraint. The dog is crash-tested in the seated position because in this position, the pet is at the greatest risk for injury. Sleepypod has tested its Clickit harnesses in the "lounging" or laying down position. Subscribe to our RU-vid channel and stay tuned! We plan to release more research videos, to include the test of Clickit Sport model in the lounging position. Until then here is a link to the Clickit Terrain test in the lounging position. - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aZIQ7l1es8U.html. I think I'm keeping my puppy in a crate until she is big enough for a harness. This harness is worth considering for sure but not right now.

Stick with the crate forever. These harness are stupid and not safe at all. Most are absolute garbage and break on impact or they stretch so far the dog goes flying. Always always always use a good crash tested crate like "variocage" when traveling with your dog.

The bummer is that after the dog flies forward, it then flies backwards head first, into the seat... So there ought to be another product that eliminates this rag doll, out of control lunging back into the seat.. Broken necks seem like they would be very high, as the dog crashes back into the seat.... I noticed the video ends before it really shows the repercussion of how the dog rebounds onto the back of the seat.. Hoping they elongate the video so we can really see the full range of how the product handles..

Good morning, Marie. We appreciate your interest. Sleepypod crash tests in the upward seated position because in this position the pet is at greatest risk for injury. Similar to human seatbelts, Sleepypod’s priority is to keep the pet passenger on the seat for the duration of the crash test while also controlling rotation to minimize injury. Sleepypod car safety restraints have been proven effective not only in the lab but in real life accidents. You can view some of Sleepypod customer testimonials at sleepypod.com/safety. Every pet passenger has walked away without injury. To date, Sleepypod is unaware of any product failures. Pet safety in cars is ongoing research for Sleepypod. Our research and design team collects data from Sleepypod customers through Sleepypod’s Crash Replacement Program and through ongoing lab testing. We continue to research in the lab with new designs and newer, more dynamic crash test pets. Sleepypod crash tests using the most advanced crash test pets throughout the design process to create safer pet product designs. If you have additional questions, please feel free to reach out to Sleepypod’s customer service team during regular business hours PST via email at contact@sleepypod.com or via Web Chat using the widget at Sleepypod.com.
