I am 72 years old now, born 1952, this song was the first pop song I heard from the radio that I really liked. I was really young about 6-7 years old then. Since English is not my native language (I am Thai), I did not understand the lyrics at all, yet the tune, the voice captivated me.
And really we're not young anymore! Those were the days, make me cry how happy and innocent we were❤ Still terrific. The legend that is Sir Cliff Richard.
When I feel sad, I search for this song, and it helps to lift me up. It brought back beautiful memories from my childhood. My grandma always played this song at her home. Thank you, Sir Cliff Richard for entertaining us. May you are blessed with similar joy that you bring to the world.
Pure class here from Cliff. What lovely and pertinent lyrics too. Time has flown by, I am 67 now but I am so glad to have lived through these years. Hope you are well Cliff and thanks for the great music.
@@baldwinwilcher6148 It was the title song for the 1961 movie The Young Ones and was released as a single in 1962 and went straight to Number 1 in the UK - I turned 13 in 1962.

This song ignites so many good feelings of my childhood when I was waaaayyy too young to know anything about love but I loved Cliff Richard and anything he sang❤️
To były nasze najpiękniejsze dni w życiu. Pozdrawiam z Polski.
My dad passed away last month .. Cliff Richard was his absolute favourite and this was one of his most loved songs..this song will always have a special place in my heart 💓
As my mom will be and she really like cliff so I fine the songs she likes and I play them for her as the last thing that's goes when we die is are hearing and songs played for her to make her comfortable
Dumnezeu să-l ierte! Eu ascult această melodie și migrez in timp, sincer, cred că am greșit epoca, parcă mă vad acolo, nu aici, nu acum! Și, deasemenea, același sentiment am când ascult Edoardo Vianello, "Guarda comme dondolo"
Cliff Richard, also with Elvis Presley, Johnny Tillotson, The Cascade, etc. I grew up in this wonderful time. It's the Golden years of my life. It's fun, carefree. Oh!.... What a warm and happy memory.
I was chided by the nuns for humming the song continously in class, @ age 8 man! , Sister Theresa walk away to another class humming the song with a smile too!
Wow, 60 years ago today, The Young Ones, by Cliff Richard, was number one, in the U.K. music charts. Happy birthday to my wonderful sister Janice. Born on 19 January 1962 ❤️👍🏴.
Such a simple little song but that line...we may not be the young ones very long...it really hits you. Life is so so short and most of us waste so much of it x
The young ones Darling, we're the young ones And the young ones Shouldn't be afraid To live, love While the flame is strong For we may not be The young ones very long Tomorrow Why wait until tomorrow 'Coz tomorrow Sometimes never comes So love me There's a song to be sung And the best time Is to sing it while we're young Once in every lifetime Comes a love like this I need you, You need me Oh, my darling, can't you see That young dreams Should be dreams together And young hearts Shouldn't be afraid And some day When the years have flown Darling, then we'll teach The young one of our own Once in every lifetime Comes a love like this I need you, You need me Oh, my darling, can't you see That young dreams Should be dreams together And young hearts Shouldn't be afraid And some day When the years have flown Darling, then we'll teach The young one of our own
Great song! Takes me back to my childhood. Whoever coined to phrase "the good old days", probably never realized just how true that would be, considering the times that we are living through these days. A much simpler life, with much, much less technology ...... and for me personally, a much happier, easier time, than what kids deal with today, unfortunately.
I grew up with this song. Cause my parents always listening at the radio every sundays, and I'll always sang this song even if it's older than me. I've really loved this song i am attached to this song ❤️.
My uncle in Bandra, Bombay back in the early 1960’s was a big fan and had most of Cliff’s records. He took me to see the movie “Summer Holiday” at the Eros Theater in Bombay in 1963 and after this movie I also became a fan.
I was 17 yrs old when I first saw Cliff, the movie and listened to this song. At that moment my appreciation and love for Cliff decided my life...I'll always remember those days and I'll never regret the decision I've taken upon that impact...
I was a baby born Nov 1960, now my eldest is 40, my middle is. 37 and my youngest 34! My eldest grandchild is nearly Sixteen and my youngest is One on the 25th with three more in the middle. Time literally flies.
Those great days, when life was beautiful, when life was certain. Great music from Cliff and the Shadows always dawned to a happy tomorrow.iam 67,great memories, in a turmoiled present.
When I first heard this song I was a kid of 7 and waiting ten more years to be a young ones. Now I’m 64 + 2 but Cliff sings it all the time,. Why not me ! Later maybe I teach my grandsons and daughters sing
There is no one in the musical culture of Britain to match the contribution Sir Cliff has made in acting as a role model and an ambassador for our country.
I was a little girl when this came out. It just resonated with me. Fast forward many decades and I'm still a big fan of Cliff He is just one of the greats!
Honestly, im glad to be a young teenager and know this song. Its a blessing. I ran into this song when i was watching a tv series called the young ones. I was looking for the song instead and this showed up.
And my beloved brother🙏❤ is resting in Power in God's Eternal Light. And as I express these thoughts I remember! Wish Cliff Richard would perform this now because the new generation of young ones would love it!🙏❤
In times of pandemic, let's use music to ease our worries. Wishing you and your family good health and happiness. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hxx67Ao0oQo.html
God: mom and daddy dancing to this across the Glo Coat polished floor.....five little children watching two beautiful people move like one--there was that kind of love he sings of. Daddy died in VietNam....Mom never dated or married--51 years now: daddy was the love of her life and ours.
Loved Cliff In those days , I remember seeing him in Edinburgh . My pal and I saved our school dinner money, went hungry to save for a ticket in the usher Hall to see Cliff &the Shadows , but boy it was worth it
Hoy 14 de octubre de 2021.... ¡Felicidades Sir Cliff Richard! 🌹💞 Con esta canción te descubrí y me enamoré de tu voz, las canciones, las películas..... Desde España....Gracias por todo!...🌹💓🌺💞🎼😘
I used to listen to this song when i was in college about 50years or so ago . Time flew like an arrow. I really long for my college friends . Back then i thought our youth would last forever...
I missed Cliff Richard so much. I would escape classes just to see his movies . AndThe Young Ones is onevof them. I'm a senior now but I can't forget him.
What is young and what is old?I am an young boy of 61 years.I feel much younger. Also my wife of 60.We feel and look 45 maybe 46.You can do something about how old you look and how old you feel.It is between your ears. And do some sport, don t smoke. And enjoy life.Do nice things. That s the solution.Becouse you only live once😎
I was living in London between 1964 to 71, and this clip was most likely the early saturday evening show called "Top of the Pops" being aired at that time and I was watching it in my flat. Now 50+years later, seeing this old black and white show again and knowing that there isn't much life secrets left to be unfold, I can only say...Yes, I was young once and had the heck of times, been there and done it all. Thanks for sharing.
Wow!
